Congratulations Korea! As I said yesterday I won't be surprised if Korea win the Sudirman Cup as favourites don't always win! :)
Lu Kai/Huang showed in their match against Satwik/Ashwini that they can be put under pressure. While Satwik is still learning the basics and Ashwini has weakness at the net, they were unable to finish. Chae/Choi on the other hand were thorough in basics and had the skills to finish!

2019 Sudirman Cup will be exciting with more challengers and hopefully a new nation will win the cup! :)

It was the same against IND XD but then, LK for the very first time in his career imo :p out shadowed HYQ and stole the show. It was like he has his own mind as well not just the height and muscle.
I agree it was mostly swift attack but still.
But today, Lu Kai was wreck of nerves and HYQ lacked confidence too.
I wonder would they've won against JPN, I doubt with this performance

Nope, they've been champions thrice previously. 1991, 1993 and 2003

Team CHN shouldn't be to sad, they come here without high expectations in the first place. At least they beat JPN in the semifinals, and that's one of their goals.

Their shortcoming in CHN WS is most glaring, a pressing issue to address for next year's Uber Cup and the Asian Games.

A specific someone's weight issue and stamina issue.

Height is not an issue, look at JPN pocket rocket Akane Yamaguchi

Japan will be really sad seeing how easily the Korea WD dispatched Q/J ... Really bad coach choice to field Takamatsu instead of Tanaka/ Yonemoto.

Korea showed how to get the job done !

Would KOR win if it was JPN today?

Indeed, I think CHN's miscalculation lies in deciding to "throw" WD by playing Cheng Qingchen again after her ridiculous exertions yesterday night-- obviously she wouldn't be able to repeat her performance against the Olympic champions....

CHN might have had a better chance with Bao Yixin/Tang Jinhua who are also heavy hitter but more rested and experienced as well... but I guess we'll never know.

I think Japan would have probably won ! At least if they played liked yesterday XD, WS, MD and WD were manageable

Wrong, bad choice for CHN to field Cheng Qingchen again after she fought so hard to beat the Olympic champions-- CHN was obviously "throwing" WD and Chen Qingchen under the bus by making her play 3 matches with 24 hours

Yes, it would probably be 3-1 or 3-2 to Japan.

Not Fielding Chen Yufei in the final was the biggest mistakes ever China have ever done in this tournament.

Fought so hard? Two straight games though? It was not really a hard-fought match. Takamatsu were without answer in G1 and trailing the whole G2. Completely overpowered

And that does not change my point that Tanaka/ Yonemoto had much better prospects than Takamatsu who had lost 3 matches in a row against that specific pair. Coach lacked the audacity to field the youngsters! Lesson learnt for next sudirman cup I guess :)
