I've been using the VT 50 E-Tune for a while, and it was good. I took off the e-tune parts it's becoming, eh. I'm pretty sure they don't weigh enough to do anything, but they just provide extra air resistance, make the frame a bit... bigger, add some air resistance. I'm thinking of going back to the Li Ning N50 III. The N55 III has been on my list of maybe I'll try it for a while. Could always try the ZF2 again - this time 3U, maybe the LD-F? Either way I'm still the same style of player, hate the midcourt, strong drops, angled smashes, tight spinning net shots, and injection of pace in the forehand rear court corner as opportune. Any suggestions?
From that comment it seems like you're just looking for something that cuts through the air much faster. Maybe go extreme in that end . I loveeeee the 3U ZF2 and always borrow it from the coach but I'm not sure how it'd work in doubles?
N9II should be on your "must-try" list as well. Exceeds the N50-III in all aspects IMO and is equally easy to handle. LDF should also tick all of your boxes and seems to me like a non-eTune VT80-II. Sadly, I haven't had the chance to play with it yet so it's all just hearsay at this point.
N9-2, huh hadn't thought about it, but that would make sense. I'm worried the ld-f is still gonna be on the stiffer side, and won't generate good power for me out of position. Stuff like the zf2 and n90, no matter how bad the position, could still generate power
The N55III is quite head heavy and also fairly flexible. Depending on whether you like flex, this racquet could be amazing or meh.
I like whippy sledgehammers. So I'm reading that the LD-F lacks some punch, and the N9 II isn't that user friendly?
N9II seems friendly to me. I've only played 4 hours with it, and not once it didn't behave like I was expecting. I literally didn't need time to adjust, it played right from the start. I normally play with a 4u JS12 though which is very different from what you're used to.
Second this. I found the N9II easy to get along also needed zero time to adjust to JS10 and Titan. Although it's noticeably more flexible than both of them. Bad thing is that if you are really looking for a sledgehammer, this one won't be for you since it's only very slightly head heavy and overall on the lighter side of the range. Head weight on mine was at 41.5 g, which is only 1 g above the JS10 4U. So it's a fast racket that still packs a decent punch - but it's nowhere near a ZFII. N55III should then be your next candidate.
Anyone got an N50-III kicking around that wants to weigh the head? Last time I had one head weight was 42g.
youre saying the n9ii is not user friendly and that the ldf is going to be too stiff but youre considering a zforce 2? I havent used either of the first two but I play with a zf2 and I can tell you its not user friendly and both those are rated as easier rackets, the ldf being a more user friendly zf2
Easy for step out shots because of the weight. Anyway I killed my ankle again, so it's going to have to wait, at least for now. Anyone with a z speed able to tell me how stiff it plays? Last time I used one it didn't feel that stiff, but it was a while ago
ive never tried the z speed, but ive heard its a lot less head heavy and very stiff, maybe not the best idea, i also read a few people not liking it but thats all relative
New zspeed(flourescent greenish yellow) is as stiff as zf2, plays stiffer than zf2. Is a lot less head heavier than zf2 but is still head heavy racket. The one I tried was 305 balance with nbg95 at 26lbs(Marin set-up)
It's not dead as forum members make it out to be. Lively and fast. Not as thunderous as zf2. Still Packs a mean punch
Right, I'm fairly narrowed down to the N50 III, or the N9. Any opinions on either racket? The N9 seems solid for smashing, but I've not seen it used for singles, ever. Makes me question the control of the racket a little. The 50-III is tried, tested and true. It's also been tried by numerous players in singles, such as WY, LXR, and Chai Biao. Thoughts?
