But TBH, I wouldn't enjoy Lin Dan vs Lee Hyun Il matchup. I don't know why but I have never liked this particular matchup.
No doubt in my mind that SrikanthKidambi is the most exciting MenSingle to watch now considering how boring MS matches. He doesnt play like big players like Chou/Angus/Yuqi or play defensively like Son/Chen.
Age is not of Chen Long's choosing. Besides, he started challenging and posing a serious threat to LD and LCW since a few years ago, not only now. The same could be argued for Lee Hyun Il, if only he were 10 years younger.
True, such an age advantage cannot be denied, the more so when the older man is in his mid-30s. But that's the reality and cruelty of sport. Needless to say, if Lin Dan were still in his late 20s, he would be dominant today. As it is, age is definitely against him whenever he faces a player 10 years or so younger.
it's always too early to count tty out. i never count her out until it's over and she actually loses. lately tty has been the only ws player who can come from behind by going on a points binge while demoralizing her opponent in the process.
I guess that's part of how she maintains her stamina in long gruelling games. Looks like it's going to be an all-Japan WS final...
Nozomi Okuhara used a grinding tactic and excellent court coverage to wear Sun Yu out. Sun Yu needed to push harder in game 1, she had her chances to finish in 2 games but didn't convert. Japan/China pressure was also a factor but after her mentally and physically draining match with Saina Nehwal, Sun Yu didn't have the fitness for game 3. All Japan WS final!
