Liu Cheng is simply not Fu Haifeng caliber or his partnership with Zhang Nan would be in the top 3 now.

Players taking too long between rallies, says Steen ? Tennis Grand Slam has the 25-second rule between points, and yet Nadal is complaining it's too short.

Hendra/Tan racquet skills are just too good for LiuZhang. Individually, Tan is stronger than Liu that smashes. Man, if these pairs played together 5-10 years ago, this left and right combination is just so hard to beat.

Is this the first time a dual nationality pair have made it to the SS final? I don't recall a case where dual nationality in MD, WD, or XD made it to the SS finals before.

Malay. The coach has to speak Malay because HS doesn't understand Chinese although he looked of Chinese origin.

Yup, Hendra Setiawan is a Chinese. Most of Chinese Indonesian doesn't understand Mandarin following INA political turmoil in September 1965.

It's easier for Indonesian to understand Malay than vice versa, I think.

In Indonesia, there are more Hokkien and Hakka than Cantonese, right?

In 2006/2007, I think Tony Gunawan (then with USA) partnered with Candra Wijaya and made some good progress.

Perhaps TBH and Setiawen will following their footsteps.

Yes, they were once the MD World Champion. Can't remember which year.

But for HS/TBH, the latter has to improve his fitness. Currently the most from him is 3 smashes and the 4th one will be a drop. He will be out of gas.

    FINAL ORDER OF PLAY (01.00pm) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...D1C54B-EF2E-4ED7-8E0F-2139EF1FB98E&d=20170625

    1) Akane Yamaguchi (JPN) v Nozomi Okuhara (JPN)
    2) Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi (JPN) v Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christinna Pedersen (DEN)
    3) Kidambi Srikanth (IND) v Chen Long (CHN)
    4) Takeshi Kamura/Keigo Sonoda (JPN) v Hendra Setiawan/Tan Boon Heong (INA/MAS)
    5) Zheng Siwei/Chen Qingchen (CHN) v Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto (INA)

Japan has secured WS crown and may scoop more titles through doubles category, badminton powerhouse China has two final representation followed by Denmark, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Fourth time meeting in this year for Japanese starlets, Akane Yamaguchi and Nozomi Okuhara but this time in last round. They have excellent run along this tournament, Yamaguchi knocked out the looked fatigue and below-par Tai Tzu Ying with two straight games, the error-proned Taiwanese failed to find her rhythm as world number five read well her shots. Meanwhile Okuhara needed extra game to overcome China tall player Sun Yu, the only player who stole one game en route to finale. Former All England champion disposed the Olympic Champion Carolina Marin at opening round. A possible tight contest as both of these resilient players have similar type of play, Yamaguchi won over Okuhara in last encounter in recent INA Premier last sixteen. Back to back Superseries champion for Japanese women's singles player after Sayaka Sato topped podium in Jakarta last Sunday.

A rematch of SGP Superseries final also Rio Olympic Gold medal match as well, just wondering that Danish veteran Juhl/Pedersen have enough stamina to face Matsutomo/Takahashi after experienced two hard battles in a row, quarterfinal to edged out Kim HR/Yoo HM and longer duration against Fukushima/Hirota at semifinal. World number should seal the match with two straight-sets when held 20-18 match point but as usual the Japanese pair showed good fighting spirit to grab 4 consecutive points and forced rubber games. Last match of semifinal day was pretty much lop-sided, the Olympic Champion redeem Sudirman Cup painful defeat over Chen QC/Jia YF, it's hard to play double duty in current competitive badminton.

Third consecutive Superseries final for Kidambi Srikanth, SGP Open, INA Premier and tomorrow AUS Open. What a tremendous improvement particularly his endurance and technical skill. Srikanth outwitted the young Shi Yuqi convincingly as the passive Shi looked frustration and ran out of idea how to balance his more experienced opponent especially at front area, 21-10 / 21-14 scoreline described one way traffic semifinal match on TV court. The Indian will find his nemesis Chen Long to hunt another Superseries title, the Olympic Champion was struggling to eliminate dark-horse Lee Hyun Il as the stubborn Korean veteran often confused Chen with his tricky drop-shots, 26-24 / 15-21 / 21-17 in 68 minutes delivered two-time World Champion into finale. Chen Long is trying hard to end Superseries title drought, last time he nailed DEN Premier in October 2015. Former world number one still seeks his best form post Rio OG and facing the in-form Srikanth is difficult test to pass despite head to head statistics favour to Chen Long.

A first final for relatively new partnerships Setiawan/Tan BH, the experienced trans-national combination tackled Liu C/Zhang N with accuracy placement and good interception while the Chinese couldn't read the game perfectly and mostly relied on speed and powerful smash. The unseedeed INA-MAS duo will face HKG Superseries winner, the fast and furious Kamura/Sonoda, it will be interesting final tomorrow how Setiawan/Tan BH will balance their attacking opponent with strong defense.

Last final tie will stage mixed doubles duel, world number one Zheng SW/Chen QC will see seventh seed Jordan/Susanto, the Indonesians demostrate long-time dismal performance after bagged prestigious 2016 All England title including homeground Premier event last week. They have favourable draw here as two Chinese high-ranked, Zhang Nan/Li Yinhui also Lu Kai/Huang Yaqiong as well pulled out from this tournament due to injury. Jordan/Susanto ended new Korean duo Kim DY/Kim HN brilliant feat, 21-19 / 21-17 in last four. The Chinese top contender involved in tough clash to overcome their teammates Wang YL/Huang DP, 21-13 / 19-21 / 21-23.

Great matches overall. But I like the MDs most, must go to the side seat to watch both of them, lu yang kamura sonoda on high speed turbo with no stop while liu zhang hendra tan with more tactics and net play.

For tv courts, I think viewers would like lu yang vs kamura sonoda more as its fast and furious. i also think the xd match between the chinese are much worth looking than praveen debby kim2 match.

Cheered for hendra tan and praveen debby, hope they can give us a nice idul fitr present by being the champion here

Err, you are confusing Mandarin with Hokkien-- as well as the fact that Chinese regional dialects are NOT mutually intelligible like say Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Malaysia....
