Just realised Wawrinka, Djokovic and Nishikori will miss the coming GrandSlam US Open and for the rest of the year

Injuries are piling in but is it just because of rough schedules?. I hope badminton players can take care of themselves.

Yup but when i was young or when you were young, everyone knew that Lin is better than Lee, He is more talented. Probably at that time only Taufik is more talented than Lin winning the AG,and WC beating Lin. Of course, he gets lazy after.

And Lee just get more hardworking, but he wont win more times than he did now. I think its about the pumping of the heart. and he didnt ask to be national hero. I think what happened is what happened, it is what it is. Short, i dont think Lee ever wants to be like Lin just because he lost all those Olympics and WC (in which he already did his best). In truth is its nicer to bee Lee than Lin, anyone knew that.

Chen Long is overwhelming favourite. If Srikanth beats Lin Dan, I think it's indicative of good form and that he'd have a pretty even 5-5 chance against Chen Long. If Lin Dan makes it to the final, I can't see him standing a chance against Chen Long.

If all 3 players (CL, LD, SK) are in good form, I think Srikanth and Chen Long are even, Lin Dan are behind both.
The only way Lin Dan can take this WC is if Srikanth chokes and Chen Long is in bad form.

Srikanth vs Chen Long is too close of a call if neither choke and are in good form...

I hope Sai brings it vs Chen Long in the other SF and sets up an all India final.

Yeah and that somebody gonna go down in QF.
BSP has to take care of CTC, yeah he's like the second most beatable "elite" but he's still the favourite and his fitness level as good as anybody in any day if not more.
SWH will come really hard at KS this time.
LD has his compatriot SYQ, if he(LD) isn't in his best form, SYQ is himself too hard to crack.

Chinese players will be in full physical condition for this championships. Chen long is a beast. LCW need to be ready to tackle him. Unfortunate , he has to meet him early .
Lindan , as usual he has so much time to prepare and rest. Let us see what happens @ Glasgow.

Son won ho already lost twice to Srikanth in 2 weeks. Their team will try to find a way to beat him. It will be a hell of a match.

Srikanth will get a medal. But he has lot of work to do. Even he acknowledged it in his interview with BWF. He wants to concentrate one match at a time.

Shi yuqi need to be quicker to tackle top players to grab a medal. I forgot the draw. Hope to see his movement faster.

I see what my compatriots are doing here.
Refusing to don the mantle of favourites.
Believing in the "pressure theory" that media loves to crap all the time.
Yup we are the overwhelming favourites in MS and yes we are (atleast ought to be) cool and calm with it.

I mean if you ask a random Chinese fan who will win between KS vs LCW/VA/SWH he would pick KS.
Replace the Chinese guy with a Malaysian/Dane/Korean and replace their players with LD/CL and ask them again and you will get the same answer again.
Ask a Japanese/Thai/Indonesian anyone, its apparent.

Not acknowledging THE UNDENIABLE FACT that KIDAMBI SRIKANTH is the OVERWHELMING FAVOURITE for Glasgow 2017 BWF World Championships is outright disrespectful to form, fitness and common sense.
He is as much the favourite as TTY would have been had she chosen to play.

The only thing that people can hold against the kid is a lack of major titles, however he is young unlike LCW.

    Can he do it?
    YES SRI CAN!!!!!

Saina Sindhu and before them Gopi never entered a WC as an overwhelming pre event favourite.
The last time it happened to an Indian was in 1980 Jakarta and 1983 Copenhagen when Padukone was the favourite.

Relax buddy. Sri is one among the favourites (Chen Long/LCW/Lindan/Sri).

You are very much ahead in your optimism. Let us try to be practical. He is playing good. Nobody denies it. But it is world championships. Those big names have had played multiple finals of big events. They knew exactly what is coming. So, Sri need to focus more on his weakness than regrouping his strengths.

In the world championships they will play BADMINTON not Kabaddi and on current form, there is daylight between Sri and whoever is the planet's 2nd best player.

Thing is, I had a bad feeling that CL wasn't taking him seriously in the final for some reason. I'm sure I could just be taking this all back if KS lifts the WC Trophy but it felt like just an irrelevant match for him whereas the previous match he did seem to enjoy himself against his idol.

On that day, Srikanth was better. That's why , he won it. But Sri is favourite for a medal(any colour) in this world championships . Nothing will belittle his achievements even if he do not win a medal there.

I watched that match between chen long vs sri @ Australia Open. Chen Long's weakness was clearly opened on that day. Chen Long did not win a title for more than a year. He was playing the final . There is no reason for Chen Long for not taking Sri lightly . He knows Sri is not an ordinary player. He was in the 3rd consecutive superseries finals.

I would take back what i said if Chen Long wins the title. If not, he is not the best.
