Just watching an old match and Zhang Nan OH swing just stood out as being very clean/nice to watch. So he gets my vote. I think Moegenson a close second.

In MS I'd say Lin Dan with Kento Momota a close second, in MD probably Hong Wei has the best overhead technique. Other good ones are Lee Hyun-il, LCW, Goh V Shem and Liu Cheng.

Amongst the men, it's FHF and LHI for me (oldies but goldies...). For the girls it's TTY, although her technique is far from the textbook.

I'd say TTY for WS as well.

I find it strange you would say TTY doesn't have textbook technique - in my view it is completely textbook. What every player should strive towards - its more or less exactly what my coach teaches so its very similar to what all the players around do. Its very reminiscent of how players used to play and move 15-20 years ago (maybe more? How old am I...).

For me, the players with the nicest looking technique are:
    Tony Gunawan
Lin Dan 2008/2009 (not current day)
    Chandra Wijaya
    Kim Dong Moon
    TTY
    Ratchanok Inthanon
    Liliana Natsir

I'll go with Peter Gade for the MS footwork.
Kento Momota has some nice "fluid" looking overhead swings.
I like LCW's front court lifts as he seems really stable with low center of gravity.
Defensively I'd go with VA for MS and Mads Conrad Petersen for MD.

Tai Tzu Ying for racket skills, Wang Shixian for footwork and defense. Li Xuerui for her backhand clears. Goh V Shem's smashes and dropshots.

My coach says Zhang Nan has the best racket preparation, but personally I find it quite strenuous on the shoulder to prepare it like he does and makes me stiff before striking the shuttle. I prefer to do the racket preparation like Tai or some other WS such as Ratchanok, which is more relaxing and natural (to me, at least. Zhang Nan looks like a robot to me).

I like Bao Yixin's forehand cross court net shot too. It's perfect IMO. Great angle, deceptive and relaxed. Lee Chong Wei for his very late and low backhand cross court net. Kenta Momota for net shot control.

The best jack of all trades is Chen Long.

If we exclude which players technique is more effective or successful and purely looking at answering your question, my vote goes to either Zhao Jian Hua or Chen Hong.

    seriously.

    Susi Susanti and Gong Zhichao.

even better is to watch a match with those two duking it out against each other. what a treat.

    Depends:

    # Footwork: Nuzomi Okuhara.
    # Racket Skills: TTY, KKK & Zhang Nan
    # Overhead Shots: Praveen Jordan, Carsten Mogensen, GvS, FHF
    # Neutralisation Shots: Kento Momoto, Chen Long
    # Net (Singles): Kento Momota, Viktor Axelsen
    # Net (Doubles): Hendra Setiawan, Liliyana Natsir, Goh Liu Ying (more for their vision & antizipation than for technique)
    # Defense: Lee Yong Dae
    # Speed: Arisa Higashino, Kevin Sukamuljo, LCW

    But....

    # Overall: Chen Long. Boring to watch, but really effective & Textbook Style.

I really like Kento Momota's style. It's so smooth and relaxed.

Momota definitely looks good but he "learned" it from kenichi tago and taufik

Nicest looking techniques for me (could be movement, could be shots)
Li Xuerui, Wang Shixian, Zhang Beiwen, Maria Kristin, Mia Audina
Viktor Axelsen, Emil Holst, Jan O Jorgensen

Learning from Tago, sure maybe some, as they were training together I suppose. Hidayat? I don't think so... A player like Momota has spent his whole youth perfecting his OWN shots. When we were watching Taufik Hidayat, Momota was at training camp..

Ok, less biased and a little further back, Fung Permadi. Such clean strokes and technique.

Sorry maybe I worded it wrong, but he definitely took inspiration from taufik like a lot of japanese players do. Both momota and taufik have similar playing style and momota uses Taufik's forehand grip
