Rewards are a positive encouragement. What's there to do if you play all the time, and earn so little.
There has to be a incentive for your hard work.

in the case of malaysia, the monetary rewards and idol-worshipping is simply excessive.
a sportsman representing his/her country must aim for 1) sporting excellence 2) national pride.

But also must have an incentive.
I thought, hur dur, RM is declining, people need more money.
A sportsman is also a human, not a machine.

Technical director Frost’s fate expected to be discussed

KUALA LUMPUR: Will it be an end or the beginning of a new job scope for Morten Frost in the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM)?

Today, the role of technical director Frost is expected to be discussed when the coaching and training committee, headed by president Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria, meets at the Academy Badminton Malaysia (ABM) in Bukit Kiara.

The Dane, who has a six-year contract until 2021, has been under pressure following several uninspiring results this year.

Malaysia performed below par and failed to meet a top four target at the Sudirman Cup in Gold Coast, Australia, in May.

It went further downhill last month with Malaysia suffering their worst ever results at the World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, and failing to win the men’s singles and doubles golds at the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games.

Frost is not involved in the men’s singles department, which is now headed by Datuk Misbun Sidek.

But he oversees the other departments – the juniors, wo-men’s singles and doubles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles.

There are also disciplinary and gambling problems at the Bukit Jalil Sports School (BJSS). And the juniors have been losing frequently to the state players.

When met during his visit to encourage the Malaysian athletes gearing up for the Asean Para Games at the Axiata Arena on Friday, Norza indicated that there would be big news at today’s meeting.

But he later retracted the statement.

“It’ll be a normal meeting. Just wait and see,” said Norza.

Another topic that will be on the agenda is the official decision of splitting up national No. 1 men’s doubles pair Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong.

V Shem has been named to partner Teo Ee Yi while Wee Kiong will team up with Ong Yew Sin for the French Open from Oct 24-29.

The decision, according to doubles head coach Cheah Soon Kit, is just a “temporary measure”.

KUALA LUMPUR: Morten Frost has resigned as the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) technical director.

It was confirmed that Frost tendered his resignation on Sept 11 citing personal reasons.

"Morten has resigned. We have accepted his decision," said BAM president Datuk Seri Norza Zakaria after chairing the coaching and training committee (CNT) meeting.

"We take it in an amicable way. We thank him for what he has done and wish him the best."

All the five head coaches - Misbun Sidek (men's singles), Cheah Soon Kit (men's doubles), Tey Seu Bock (women's singles) Wong Pei Ty (women's doubles) and Chin Eei Hui (mixed doubles) will report directly to CNT.

Frost, who joined Malaysia in 2015 and has a contract that runs until 2021, has been under pressure following uninspiring results this year.

    Holy ****!

He was the best man for the business by far. He was extremely strict and demanding. Results speak for themselves!

Go for LCW's friend Li Yongbo then. Recently relieved from his duty as the Badminton Head Coach of People's Republic of China.

There will be no fight then.

Its sad to see MF leave BAM. Having him collaborating his wisdom with Datuk Misbun and also with the other former Msia great player like Cheah SK might potentially bring huge impact to BAM. But the recent continues strings of poor results might have been the trigger factor for him to resign. Whatever the reason is, BAM should realize that one of the worlds top coach is not with them anymore. I think BAM now can just recruit christopher nolan.

Return of Misbun Sidek could be one of the chief reasons for Morten Frost's resignation.

I believe the lackluster result at recent tournaments especially in World Championship and Sudirman Cup pushed Morten Frost to resign. Not to mention the shuttler squad failed to get two golds at SEA Games, further destroying Morten's target.
