Coach problem or talent drain? Or talent is there but not delivering the result in senior tournament.
i think it's more to players mind set. We hv good talents n great coaches n good facilities but the mindset of the players n weak. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
Agree. People can blame coaches all they want but one of the most important factor is talent's mindset. Some of the seniors are still not confident of themselves and too worried about their match, thus they cannot play to utmost potential. Coaches can only do much to help players own problem.
How long has Hendrawan and Tey Sue Bock been the MS coaches? After a long time of training/development, they players still play in a subpar/underwhelming fashion. Can you blame the coaches? Of course not.
Don't be so biased. Where's the source, BAM have multiple coach at that time. After 5-7 year of training, focus on one player is not relevant when they still failed to perform up to standard.
There's always those reports that resources are concentrated on mainly on one player. Your last sentence makes no sense at all....
It means even if coaches focus on one player, the other players should be able to perform well after 5-7 years of training.
Oh, so you mean although the other players are NOT getting enough attention, they should still be able to perform well after 5 years. I thought the whole point of joining BAM was to train all players up to their peak potential in an efficient time frame. I need my brain checking.
I though with LCW going for all of SS events since 2011, the backups would get some development and training, but after 5 year, if that is not enough, I rest my case. The player's mentality is one of the factor, stated by Hendrawan and Tey Sue Bock and Morten Frost themselves.
Yes you can blame the coach. Coaches at this level are not for technique and physique only. The "mindset" of players is certainly under the responsibility of coaching.
Even LCW's mindset after under guidance of a lot of coaches still stay the same until the very end. It's up to the players themselves.
I think you have forgotten Malaysia also have MD, WS, WD & XD...they also can't perform. Malaysia MS able to perform because of LCW (who able to consistently perform)...once he retired then all dept.... MS, MD, WS, WD & XD will be on the same level.
Mxd are historically doing better than ever before. Right? Name me a period when MAS mixed was stronger.
I dare say BAM coaching problems does not date from today. The MD had great potential, but Ku/Tan pretty much blow it away because, or partly because of attitude. It seems that the psychological aspect is not handled properly since quite a long time. It is true that LCW was very constant in fault (as well as in his qualities). That is why when MF came some might have hoped for a change. But this aspect of coaching need time, and MF was not given precisely because, or partly because, he wanted to change the working of the team and senior players got upset.
