is Jeremy Gan the man coach that always accompany GohvShem/Tan and Chan/GohLiuYing at the olympics and all their tournaments?

If its him, what a loss?

Well, SBA haven't said anything. I don't think we should get our hopes up.

SG is near in distance, but the level is miles apart. given the turmoil here, he'd be like jumping from one sinking ship to another.

Looking at BAM, probably not a sinking ship but damaged one....Unfortunately that cannot be said of SBA, definitely a sinking ship!
Just hoping someone to come in and managed them...

I wish I could but it's going to be a tall order from what was shared by Loh to even get into SBA's affiliation!
Really wish some big shots can come in and then pool our resources together and this is where we can coordinate and plan how we can help spore Badminton...

Still gave enough time, 3 months for waiting.

Jeremy Gan will serve his three-month notice until the end of 2017 (Source)

Trouble is having lots of big shots that can't come to agreement.

Coaches are not necessarily good managers and can have their own issues.

Big shot managers have their own ideas, perhaps not all bad, but not adaptable to the mentality of sports environment.

that's why decision need to be made on a collective basis....feedback from all, not just top down. Top may not know what's happening at the bottom, and bottom may not know what's happening at the top!
public feedback is also another good from of feedback for improvement...but in SBA case, we don't see or hear anything at all....
    is a big black void....
Just read the news in Msia badminton again...so much disclosure there, the perks, cash awards, ....is all out in the open, if you win an open tournament, you get this much, clearly written. SBA got or not? Can't find it anywhere.
there is pros and cons on this, again we need to take to bad and the good together.....and lean the good things and improve on them.
How SBA? can disclose or we will forever in the dark...
might as well scrap the sports and take the money and do something else...(what's left of the $$ or is there any $$ left) :D

On the other hand, our Olympic gold medalist will be given S$1 million as incentive, a sum very difficult to match by many other countries.

$1m, i bet it is this high because the govt know the chances of giving this out is very very small. Oh, could this be why funding to S-league is cut so drastically?

Well recently Sport Singapore was forced to step in re the Athletics fiasco before further damage could be done so near to the SEA Games. But SBA is not in such a pitiful stage...yet!

Sure it is meant to be difficult, yet Schooling managed to be the first to deserve it. It shows it can be done, not entirely impossible, but great effort, dedication and commitment are definitely needed.

I think incentive based on ranking and lower tier competition will be a good start. Plus NS deferment (anyway the number of male players is so small that it can't even form a section of 12-13, right?)

Schooling is after all a rare case, one who achieved so much because of many factors combined (supportive parents who also have enough in their piggy bank, his talent n willingness to work hard, govt granting deferment)

Our government is not willing to grant such "risky" moves unless results are shown. Before Schooling was granted his NS deferment, he already had some results to prove. With the Olympic gold medal, the government has no reasons to reject his deferment.

I think our government should be more flexible (e.g. deferring NS liabilities until after 25-28), after which athletes are not expected to perform any more. I think something similar exists for MO, no?

Also, if deferment can be granted for poly students, who are typically in their 2nd year of study to complete their studies, why shouldn't the same be granted for male athletes?

If the government truly wants to promote sports and wants to see results, that could be one possible way to help them.
