Simple, politics related should stay away from BAM, all the BAM managements should run by ex-national players, coaches and non-government related personals...
They won't in the short term, but without Lee Chong Wei, the coaches will be forced to develop the players and in time, they will win. Currently, it appears that BAM is trying to do both and fail. Personally, I think it's worth a try that Lee Chong Wei retires from the squad and impart his experience and knowledge to them to see if there's improvement. If there's no improvement and things go downhill, clearly, it's not Lee Chong Wei to blame. He gets to gain. If there's improvement, he will be credited with helping the juniors moving up. He gets to gain as well. BAM is happy, the country is happy, the players are happy, it's a win-win situation for all.
The post was not really off-topic but just another example in the whole debate about 'inconsistent performances' that Inconsistency is a problem not only in Badminton but in other popular sports as well. There was an interesting decision made to tackle the issue that Big Names will be dropped if the performances don't come as big as their name. You might want to rethink your decision.
You mean LCW also need impart his experience to WS, WD, MD & XD too? U also mean all BAM coaches (WS, WD, MD & XD) is currently concentrating on LCW? Do you aware that Malaysia Badminton is not solely about MS? Have you watches Thomas Cup or Sudirman Cup? Do you aware it is a Team Event? You mean if there is no improvement and thing goes downhill after LCW retired is also a win-win for BAM and the country? What kind of win-win situation for all you talking about? Can you forget about MS for a moment? Just discuss about how BAM can create world beater in MD, XD, WS & WD who can perform consistently like LCW. I noticed that everytime there was a discussion about Malaysia Badminton, some narrow minded badminton fan will tend to just focus it on MS, ignoring other dept. which was equally important....geezzz what wrong with these people?
I didn't even say that... Knowledge and experience are not necessary MS-specific, although Lee Chong Wei plays MS. Some could be applied across the board to all departments, of which his experience and knowledge will come in useful. For example, how does he deal with big tournaments, how does he handle a higher level tournament when transiting from a lower event to higher event, etc. His experience with playing the different players. All those could be imparted. I believe a lot could be learnt from Lee Chong Wei himself. If players can learn from him, it's a win-win for all. Of course, in the short term, things going downhill is expected as there is transition and adjustments. China itself is going through the same, so it won't be surprising to see China players losing here and there while they adjust and improve.
Not quite right, the main point is that sports association should be run by competent people not by someone trying to score cheap political points or for personal glory. This Norza guy talk much but cannot deliver much
By dumping out LCW, haha. Maybe MS/WS/MD/WD/XD will be more consistent if LCW just run away from BAM.
Same plague is consistency, not much for coaches and LCW. Youngsters need to practise their shot and invest in training the same shot for a long time before they became like Axelsen.
Bulgaria. Then he will be the top player and Bulgaria MS will not rise anymore. Sweet invasion by BAM.
Is LCW a detergent in that he attracts all the coaches to his side and the rest of molecules (players) get pulled away?
True, but his shots is more consistent now with less mistakes and more precise. The juniors need to spent a lot of time to train their shot, like Axelsen and LCW did. Then, we won't see 100x unforced error from MAS MS.
Possibly, probably. Men stop growing until 25 in exceptional cases although the norm is 21. He is 24 now, maybe he will be another inch taller next year.
