@CIA-99 @michael8 How about the feeling of being in a team and feeling valued? Could poor team spirit and poor psychological support be a factor for poor progress? That is something that can vary between different countries.
Look like this thread discussion is going well and is heading toward the right direction....previously it seem like some narrow-minded fans were only focusing on MS & shockingly blamed LCW for issue in WS, WD, MD & XD. Some even expect LCW to assist to solve the problem in WS, WD, MD & XD by being multitalented in Leadership, Coaching, Psychologist, Motivational Speaker & etc.
It could be a factor but LCW always lose in his early career but somehow doesn't give up and continue to prosper until the end. Their mentality has to change, don't expect coaches to focus on you all the time because they had a lot of players to care for. They have to focus more and take that lose as experience.
when yap kim hock used to produce so many world junior champions in doubles, when he was the head there.if not mistaken, 5 years straight. however, one year he didnt produce, they sack him
Good idea. As pointed out by @CIA-99 , LCW pulled himself up even though he was a loser early in his career. They are getting lots of experience with losses. Actually, what happens to players who do continually lose? Do they have contract terminated with BAM?
I think they stayed with BAM and will be given a period of time, where if there isn't any decent results, they will terminate the player's contract. Or the players will sign out by themselves like Liew Darren, Chong Wei Feng and Tan Chee Tean.
Here's another possible theory. Professor Kenneth Larsen's background would be hard to beat. His view is coaches must not only be able to deal with physical and technical aspects. A coach must know how to develop the player's character and self analysis ability. The final summing up concludes developing the human side of the person is just as important. Exactly how you do that is not addressed in the video - probably you would need to read a book on that. Interestingly, the prof talks about a player having self esteem. If there's one thing I know, Malaysian's are very vocally critical of their top players. Quite different from say Indonesian and Indian supporters. The way Malaysian's (not all but many) criticize their top players is more demoralising in style. Perhaps that psychological issue is feeding into training and ultimately affecting performance thus making the BAM coaches' work that much harder.
Very good point. Don't know why but out of all countries Malaysian spectators are the only ones I know who actually boo their own players when they start to lose or make mistakes. Just watch any MAS open games where MAS players are involved.
They need to in order to be champions. Or they want to be content at losing early rounds in low ranked tournament.
We started this discussion because MF was fired. MF was fired because LCW asked so. So one can ask a question about LCW's influence on the whole team, not just MS. Some fans answered that the problems are in the motivation of individual players, and the BAM environment being the best cannot be faulted. But if the good juniors repeatedly failed to perform at senior's level, then the responsibility have to be put on BAM, isn't?
I think they are fed up with MAS players who always lost when they can win the match. Example, see Koo/Tan at All England 2011 and World Championship 2010. See LCW OG 12, WC 2017/2011/2013. Chan/Goh at AE. Countless example.
Just because you hate LCW, you shouldn't blame him on anything. There must be two side effects everywhere. I blame both BAM and players. All of them played their role to make it happen.
Yes, but you don't see or hear spectators from any other country do that. Ever. Any other country spectator would support their players to the end, win or lose.
You don't see any of other countries player self destruct in every important matches they played. Since the era of Sidek brothers and Cheah/Yap this has happened in WC/OG events.
W Well the Sidek are back, isn't? By the way, I am not a LCW hater, don't confuse criticism and hate.
