Back then , lippro used to be my partner. We had a formidable partnership. Now he promotes enemy camp having thrown friendship principles in dustbin.
That's why LHI would not recieve a proper farewell. Who will believe him seriously ? If you keep juggling with your words, it would be hard to give you a proper and deserved send off.
That's a bit harsh on Lin Dan. He ticked 9 out of 10 boxes on my moral scale but if a divine beauty wants to hook up with you for a night, you would want to keep that moral scale down for that night.
Don't see why one would need a send off. At least in this sport. I don't recall anyone ever having one in regards to final competitions. Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
Some are confusing stopping to play for the National association and stop to play altogether. LHI and others play independent but they did not retire.
I see no confusion. What I see is something being made out of nothing. Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
It would be epic if LYD/YYS play together again internationally for sometimes after they become 31 and winning gold Tokyo 2020. Wonder whether KBA will allow them to play there though
That'd be another 2 years for LYD though, so although I'd love to see him play internationally again and be back to his best, unless he can keep motivated and have good training partners/coach I'm doubtful he will be a strong contender for Tokyo and that's based on assuming a lot of things will happen. But nothing is impossible though, for someone like LHI to come back and play some of the best badminton of his career at the ripe old age of 37 is a pretty amazing feat.
they won't qualify. lyd turns 31 in sept 2019. there won't be enough time & tournaments to earn enough points. olympic qualifying period ends around late may/early june. starting from zero points would take at least a year to start getting into ss level draws. who will pay all of their expenses to travel/enter challenge series level tournaments?
sponsor? it is possible if they basically already prepare the sponsorship package starting from now. and Yoo Yeon Seong can already has notional points to let them play in SS qualifiers. Well, it is a long shot, but if they basically get to QF of all tournaments available, they should be able to qualify, considering the weak MD line up of Korea nowadays: 2 SS by Nov 2019 (@5040 minimum) , 1 Korea Masters at 2019 (3850), 1 All England 2020 (5040 min), 3 SS in Jan (@5040 min), about 2 GPG before AE (@3850), and the Asian Championship around April (5040 like SS) = 46830 minimum. This is still before the change of the levels, e.g. the upgrade of AE for higher SS level. A fan may wish anything though
they won't get into those tourneys. they'll have zero points and there will undoubtedly be more than 44 entrants above them w/ more than zero points. that's why they'll have to start in future series & int'l challenge levels. but, the points they could earn in those ain't worth squat.
They could get wild cards, seeing how they retired in the top 10 - should easily get into SS qualifiers...just a technicality though, they wont play seriously again I think
Why won't they have notional points (if Yoo Yeon Seong keep playing with different pair beforehand)? The rule for notional point certainly will be used for the first time they register in one or several tournaments before they have points at the seeding date @samkool
This is a possibility. Even Olga Konon paired up with a partner with 0 points and got enough notional ranking points to put them around the level of world #74. The Korea Masters had a MD qualifier with 0 points and Macau's lowest qualifier had 1000 points. In the Olympic qualifying period, the lowest Macau qualifier had only 520 points and the lowest at the Thailand Open GPG had 1840 points. I'd say Olympic qualification would certainly be possible. The way is there but no idea about the will.
sponsors won't pay for a player to 'start over'. yys's points are way too low now. ranked #88, 12,700 points. olympics have a country quota. 2 max per country. lyd/yys would need to become korea's second highest bwf ranked pair by june 2018.
