Gawd, it has no redeeming features AT ALL. Super damped and rubbery, no zing, no repulsion.....nothin. Maybe it works better at higher tensions, but I run 25lbs on .66 strings so I need something that works at 25. Glad I bought that orange packet of Ultimax ☺️
Has anybody tried TK-30? http://www.victorsport.com/product/25128 looks like a downgraded version of onigiri to me.
Tried emailing them but not completely satisfied with their answer. Found two listings of the Onigiri new colour on DirectBadminton and apparently "No they are not the same product. The rackets themselves are the same in terms of construction but the design on the frame is different." http://www.directbadminton.co.uk/bedeptproduct/badminton/badminton-rackets/victor-thruster-k-onigiri-badminton-racket-(black-red)?ProductID=27094 http://www.directbadminton.co.uk/bedeptproduct/badminton/badminton-rackets/victor-thruster-k-onigiri-badminton-racket-(black-orange)?ProductID=25516 Anyone care to clarify? Oh I did notice one of the specs being Head size: 308 sq/in
Sounds like someone doesn't know their own product. I've seen the old and new colours side by side in the shop. They're the same thing. Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
Hi, quite long since the last reply. Currently having a 3u optimus prime racket. How diff will it play with if i get the onigiri at 4u? Playing doubles most of the time. Thx.
just picked up an Onigiri, shaft supposedly mid flex - i think not! was not expecting that. feels a lot stiffer swinging it around the office, almost like the JS10
Perhaps you aren't generating the same head speed? Less aerodynamic frame means more strength to create the same head speed as a more aerodynamic frame. Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
True. i am only messing around with it at work at the moment, but i tried bending it with my hands and it still does feel pretty stiff, not sure if thats because its brand new and will loosen after playing with it. feel good though, solid and definitely weighty in the head.
Current shaft tech is like that. It plays stiff on the faster sharper shots. But when you crank it full power on an overheard swing, it feels just like it's actually rated. Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
6 hours with this racket and i really like it. So easy to play with. At first i thought it felt stiffer than advertised but you can feel the flex when playing. This racket is really helping with rear court jump smashes. Swings really well, cuts through the air nicely and the weight in the head helps with control and feel of the shuttle. I wish i had found this racket sooner. Using Aerobite at 25lbs currently, but might go back to BG80 for the grip/bite factor as i dont think this racket needs a super repulsive string, as the flex and head weight take care of the power side of things anyway.
Yeah I've been meaning to try the Aerobite but so far Ultimax and Gosen G-Tone whatever have been serving me fine (Also at 25lbs). I've yet to try BG80 on it, but that might be a good experiment. Probably want to up it to 27lbs, though, due to the extra thickness. I can see why people would not like this racket, however. It's more hammer than it is scalpel. But it's a hammer that suits my game very nicely.
