Specifically, CBA invoked the "2017-2018 CBSL Disciplinary and Penalty Regulations" to cancel the Guangzhou club's right to take part in the competition. As such , the seven participating teams are: Qingdao Ren Zhou Dongguang Xin Shi Ji (New Century) Xiamen Te Fang Zhejiang Neng Yuan Hunan Hua Lai Jiangsu An Nier Anhui He Shi The new season will run from 30th Nov 2017 until 3rd Feb 2018 and be divided into two stages, first the preliminary round-robin stage then followed by the playoff elimination stage for the top four teams in the semifinals to determine the champion and runner-up as well as the other place finishers. The entire competition should end before the 2018 Lunar New Year beginning on 16th Feb 2018. The CBSL is a mixed team event similar to the Sudirman Cup comprising Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles, with each tie consisting of home and away matches. The match format is best of three sets with the first two sets using the 21-point scoring system and the 3rd set using the 11-point system but no deuce. I don't have the composition of the players for each team and will post it here as soon as they are available. But, thanks to Nine Tailed fox, we know that Lin Dan will be playing for Qingdao team while Chen Long goes back to Xiamen team. I'm not sure but I did come across some matches being posted on youtube later days after they were played. If I'm not wrong, as long as you can find the matches being livestreamed on zhangyutv, they will be replayed again and again on the same day or after on certain channels.

Perhaps the organizer prefers the normal relegation and promotion based on performance rather than disqualification on legal grounds or rules violations, I supposed. As such , as there are only 7 teams competing, there will be one bye for each round/tie during the preliminary stage for being without an opposing team. Yes, Guangzhou and Guangdong (New Century) are two different teams,the only province fielding two teams last year. Note that Guangdong Shi Ji Cheng (New Century) is renamed Dongguan Shi Jicheng (New Century)

One thing puzzles me, apart from Zhao Junpeng, Chen Xiaoxin and Han Yue who withdrew from the ongoing KOR Masters GPG, the rest still in the tournament there are also listed to play the CBSL which begins tomorrow. Why did they signed up for the KOR GPG in the first place ? Did they not know at the time of registration that they will be playing the CBSL or was the CBSL schedule not announced yet ?
