this discussion just shows that the record (or history if you may say) that Minions just made, is as forgettable as the other records
Can you guys and You especially - Gill Clarke, separate these Year ending Finale with SS/SSP's. Unfair to mix these as in SS you can't lose in the tournament and still proceed further in the tournament. For me, SSP's are >>> Year Ending Finale due to various selection rules implemented by BWF.
As I always say, SSF is a playground for the elite. I see it as a unique tournament with its own attractiveness. Cannot really say on how it stands compared to the others in terms of level/quality, but because of its uniqueness it does stand out in its own for me (and for some players as well)
Well, there is no way i can forget winning 7SS for Minions.. I think its because they have the face and their way of courageous playing. If its just for that...Kevin can go on to advert for dozens of companies. I dont know how many kids Kevin inspire to play Men's Double.. that you can do it, even if you dont have the height. He is like gamechanger. Just for that, i will remember. and yeah nobody remembered ZYL winning 7/8 SS because it was so much easier than winning that much compared to in MD. Less focus is needed. and who'd remember if its 2 disciplines combined? and if people they really dont like their achievement, maybe they will remember it more. so either way.
the era of lyd/jjs, cy/fhf, hs/mk, hs/ma, lyd/yys is also mediocre do yo think prime cy/fhy, lyd/yys, hs/ma will beat prime ks/mg? no way
LeeYongDae, CaiYun, HendraSetiawan.. They are just too similar to be remembered. Nothing special or that X factor.
I see. If according to @ngaceng, the era of lyd/jjs, cy/fhf, hs/mk, hs/ma, lyd/yys is mediocre. Then what do you think of this era of MDs? The best? So ks/mg is the best of the best? Lol!!
Well who holds the longest rally in MD? lol. i'd agree from what i see today that those pairs wouldnt have beaten Kevin/Gideon at prime vs prime. How the hell can those pairs cope with Kevin speed? and is Kevin even at his prime?
