Hooooooo.... But that is true. With the current state of MS and MD except LCW, they have big chance to not get to the last 4. And with Malaysia as the host, it will be a big embarassment....
ya, just like during Thomas Cup year 2010 where Malaysia is the Host, in the grouping match against Japan, Malaysia lead 2-0 but then end up lost in 2-3 tie, because that time the 2nd MS, 2nd MD and 3rd MS are so weak, and this result came back to Thomas Cup 2016 when against Denmark in SF match, leading 2-0, end up lose 2-3, and that time LCW just watch his own team lose in despair...
not in the point of view of the Malaysians, you know they are quite demanding as far as I can observe
Harsh truth. Most citizen who follow badminton won't be pleased to see players paid by their tax money lose without a fight in home tournament.
Without a fight is a bit harsh I'd say, havent seen a player in the TC/UC who didnt give it their best
Who says they are not fighting. Put younger players in, tell them win or lose is OK but need fighting spirit all the way through.
Remember that I specifically refers to the condition where MAS does not reach top 4, the spot to get to main TC through this tournament. The issue however will be worse during the determination of the 3 remaining countries to qualify based from world ranking. In Asia, the contenders are: Indonesia, China, India, Japan, Taipei, Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand and Malaysia. To be honest, MAS is not at a safe place to qualify through WR. Besides LCW, MAS other MS are only at 45th. MD reshuffle has cost them dear with V Shem/Wee Kiong will drop to rank 30 by the end of this week (after losing their last year Dubai's winner points). Yew Sin/Ee Yi only ranked 24. Indonesia, China, India will qualify for sure, together with Thailand as the host. Japan (Momota rising, Tsuneyama-Nishimoto both inside top 30, Kamura/Sonoda-Hoki/Inoue-Kobayashi/Kaneko all inside top 25) is ahead of MAS. The same case with Taipei (CTC & WTW are top 10, Hsu Jen Hao top 30, 4 MDs inside top 20). MAS will be neck-to-neck with Korea and Hong Kong to secure the remaining 2 places, especially if the just repaired MD do not perform well. Seems like HK is at the tail at the moment, but who knows. I believe that is what the coaching staff in MAS is considering while asking LCW to help with this tournament, to secure a place in TC final. Imagine what the backlash will be if they did not make it to the final stage.... Regardless what the MAS official says to the public, they will be bullied (not criticized, but bullied) no matter what reason is given
I've just posted that LCW playing Purple League (starting this week) and also LCW was registered in Malaysia Masters as well. The previous statement from LCW also mentioning that LCW will skip Dubai SSF and will have a holiday with his family then he changes his mind then joining Dubai SSF. I think LCW will play Malaysia Masters and skip Indonesian Masters (as he had already withdrawn on 13th December).
oyeah, sorry to miss that However, it means that LCW really basically has no holiday now. It was only at the beginning of Dubai SSF that he mentioned to have 2 months holiday. I was doubting that he will join the Purple League and MAS Masters actually. But, lets see
And here's the first trailer to the Lee Chong Wei movie! "The upcoming Lee Chong Wei film, took a total of three years to produce, including 50 days of filming. Yeahhhhh!!! We gonna relive the 2008 Olympics, 2010 Thomas Cup, 2010 Asian Games , 2011 WC, the 2012 Olympics and the 2013 WC again from LCW's perspective. Those were the days.
