Any information on the dates of the badminton event? I couldn't find a timetable for the events. If it is not out, when would it come out?
I believe it is still not yet published yet. Heck, there were still discussion about change of the sport by last month.....
Anyway, this is the official song of 18th Asian Games I have to say, the song is dope. Unfortunately, there is no English lyrics there. This cover has the English lyrics though
Who is the singer? local Indonesian singer? She looks Korean How in the world an Asian Games played in Indonesia but still the theme song is in Korea. LOL. Kpop rules. The song is doped though.
Problem is that basketball will be in the same venue with badminton (Istora Senayan), dunno what the organizers are thinking. Even Indonesian Masters 2018 almost got a venue crisis due to permit issue in using the new Istora
New date for Badminton: 23rd August -1st September. Basketball: 8th August -20th... It is true we got permit for Istora in the last minute. New Istora is amazing. The designs are done thru us what we like and facilities... proud to be part of it.
Great! The range schedules between basketball and badminton are in good shape even basketball should start in early before the opening ceremony. The badminton's last day is finished just one day before the closing ceremony. Istora Senayan will be used for the first time as badminton event testing for Asian Games at Indonesia Masters 2018. All things going smooth in the end. Great works and consolidation effort for that! Will Badminton event at Asian Games be a part of BWF World Ranking in any upcoming time? Welcome back here Mr. Bambang Roediyanto a.k.a Hau-ge @indrg & @stanleyfm @Griff88
So far it is listed as Non WR Event.. But BWF will count European Games 2019 ranking points (GPG/Level 5) which will affect Tokyo 2020 qualifiers
Glad to hear that. So no conflicting, tight schedule. New look, new spirit. Not trying to be so negative but hopefully the spectators also get new mindset such as learn to stand when any national anthem is played. I was unhappy when I saw in Yogyakarta not everyone was standing during Thai, Korean, and Japanese anthem despite the announcement
I know it mentioned Non WR event for the moment, that's why I asked to Hau-ge will it be included and when it will happen. Basketball decided to have its SF and F in Istora... so we are back to original schedule.. August 19-28,2018
This is interesting. I am wondering if I can come over for a couple of days.. @huangkwokhau, when can we expect these dates to be finally confirmed and unable to be changed last minute?
If changed again, I will put the cost of the airplane ticket towards the Asian games organisers..... hehe
For those who know Jakarta, I would like to seek some advice. Is there a LRT between there and the BNI city station? Would you advise staying in a hotel near city centre or near Istoran? It looks like staying near Istoran is better but need to confirm. If so, I guess the best way of getting around will be teksi? The hotels around Istoran are likely to be fully booked and expensive because it is the main venue. If this is the case, where would be a fairly good area to stay as a second option to get easy access. Since I can only go the first few days, would tickets be easily available to buy at the door?
The LRT is on going process, but we have a rapid transit bus service named TransJakarta. If you mean BNI city station is City Station or 'Stasiun Kota' (a railway station which is located in the middle of the city). There is a route from City Station to Istora Senayan (Gelora Bung Karno complex). You need to use TransJakarta at Corridor 1 which starting from City Station Halt and you need to stop at Gelora Bung Karno Halt (the 14th halt/stop). This route will end at Blok M Halt. Spoiler: Route Inside The whole map service of TransJakarta is in this website: https://transjakarta.co.id/peta-rute/ You could download the whole map : http://transjakarta.co.id/wp-content/uploads/Peta-besar-15-x-1-Agust17.jpg You could use a feature to find "Public transport direction (powered by Trafi)" inside that website (lower right corner, orange box) Everything will be quite easy with TransJakarta large coverage. Regarding LRT, it will be available soon. The plan of LRT route as below: Spoiler: LRT Route So, it isn't covering the central Jakarta and the north Jakarta at the first phase. Maybe it's better to choose the hotel outside Senayan and choose hotel which located near the TransJakarta Corridor 1 or other corridors. All corridor have it's interconnection, so you could jump into the other routes by stopping at interconnection halt available without any additional cost.
@Cheung Ah, I got what you mean, BNI City station is Sudirman Baru railway station (Stasiun Sudirman Baru) which is inline with Soekarno-Hatta Airport Rail Link. There is a feeder bus from BNI City station to Corridor 1 route. By that feeder bus, then you need to stop at Sarinah halt or at Bank Indonesia halt then continue using TransJakarta corridor 1 bus coming from National Monument (Monas)/Bank Indonesia. Just follow the Corridor 1 route (I gave it in above posting) and you need to stop at Gelora Bung Karno halt. The feeder bus to Corridor 9, BNI City station - Gambir Station (Corridor 1) route: BNI City Station - Hotel Indonesia - Sarinah - Bank Indonesia - Horse Statue (Patung Kuda) - Gambir Station - Presidential Palace - National Monument (Monas) - heading back to Bank Indonesia - Sarinah - Hotel Indonesia - Blora street - BNI City Station. There is also another feeder bus to Corridor 9, BNI City station - Menteng (Corridor 9) route : BNI City Station - Hotel Indonesia - Tosari - Dukuh Atas - Karet - Semanggi - staying in Corridor 9 route until Kuningan - Menteng - Hotel Indonesia - Blora street - BNI City Station. If you use a feeder bus to Corridor 9, you need to stop at Semanggi halt. Then continue using TransJakarta bus from Corridor 6M heading to Gelora Bung Karno halt. The Corridor 6M route will end at Blok M halt.
@Master usually, Transjakarta uses a special 'payment card' to get into. Do you know whether that will still be the case during the AG?
