    Well, I have no idea that this match would be an equivalent of World Cup Playoff. Thomas Cup without Malaysia seemed unimaginable 4-6 years ago. Should be fun for neutrals.

    He Bingjiao - Pornpawee 23-23 last game at CHI-THA 2-0
    edit: Pornpawee won by 25-23, the whole tie will then go to the fifth match in this case

    CHN-THA, 2-1. Pornpawee Chochuwong gives team Thailand a lifeline after beat He Bingjiao in thrilling match that lasted 76 minutes, 21-13 / 18-21 / 25-23.

    Gideon is injured and Indonesia need to improvise with the MD. It will be tough to fight Japan as MD is INA hope to winning.

    As long as INA can hold the fort and get at least 2-1 early lead, I am sure Hendra/Saputro will deliver and close out JPN.

    Latest World Ranking Team as per BWF ranking on 8/2/2018

    Men's team

    1. China 373300
    2. Denmark 318745
    3. Indonesia 290172
    4. Chinese Taipei 269674
    5. Japan 252785
    6. India 246032
    7. Malaysia 225432
    8. Korea 223034
    9. Hong Kong 198944
    10. Thailand 197983

    If Korea going to semi final, and Hong Kong win over Malaysia, Malaysia will not advance to Thomas Cup.

    If Hong Kong win over Malaysia, and Korea failed to enter to semi final, Malaysia spot for Thomas Cup is safe

    However, it will depend on 1st March 2018 ranking for final compilation

    Men's team QUARTERFINALS (05.00pm) :

    - MAS v HKG => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...4B903522-3120-484E-B0BF-2E923920DD85&match=69
    A crucial tie for both teams, Lee CW needs to bring his A form to beat Angus Ng KL. Equal chance for first men's doubles, Vincent Wong WK is favoured to grab point against the inexperienced Lee Zii Jia. Second MD should go to Malaysia way also third singles considering Iskandar Zulkarnain his rising performance recently.

    - CHN v IND => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...4B903522-3120-484E-B0BF-2E923920DD85&match=68
    A good test for China most promising youngster Shi Yuqi whether he could repeat Dubai SS Finals winning over the below-par Srikanth Kidambi this time. India has chance to shock China as they did two years ago in Hyderabad.

    - KOR v THA => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...4B903522-3120-484E-B0BF-2E923920DD85&match=70
    Korean team is on high confidence after defeated more favoured opponent Japan yesterday and high possibility they will book semifinal ticket.

    - INA v JPN => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...4B903522-3120-484E-B0BF-2E923920DD85&match=71
    Marcus Fernaldi Gideon suffers abdominal muscles strain that forced INA team to field scratch pair Ahsan/Sukamuljo. The opening match, Christie v Nishimoto is very important and may determine the winner of this tie. Kento Momota is the key factor if the tie goes to last match.

    INA VS JPN, if it comes down to Momota Vs Ihsan, Japan has much bigger chance of winning. INA always need to win both MD to advance. Now with Gideon absence, the chance of MD is slimmer..

    Jonatan and Ginting can reasonably win their matches so INA just need 1 sure MD to win. Who knows maybe Kevin goes light out tonight because he feels mocked by Komura/ and annoying noisy Sonoda.

    CHN-THA, 3-1, China women's team needs hard effort to overcome Thailand team, Cao Tongwei/Yu Zheng secured semifinal berth, def. Savitree Amitrapai/Pacharapun Chochuwong, 19-21 / 21-19 / 21-14.

    Women's team semifinal :
    - JPN v INA, it's heavy-weight mission for Indonesia to spring major upset.
    - KOR v CHN, looking at the roster China only has chance in singles category.

    Japan and Korea are predicted to meet in finale.

    Indian doubles put up a much better performance against Japan. If Ashwini/Sikki were sapped, they blundered in playing against Japan and should have rested for QF. Sindhu with Prajakta Sawant was a stronger combination. Lots to learn for team India but I am happy they qualified for the UBER Cup. Well done INA, solid performance! :)

    Biggest Mystery of all time....It's the decision of Rexy Mainaky which the players would have to pay heed to.

    Saina Nehwal misses this event, this is a warming up tournament before the real one in Bangkok ;)
    INA women's team has better development and confidence after series of poor performances, particularly post Susi Susanti era. Hopefully they keep consistent in Uber Cup Final Round.

    Then INA must avoid 2-2 scoreline. As we know, technically the talented Kento Momota should be Japan number one singles.

    Why is Sindhu playing WD? I thought that was just a PBL thing.

    India has poor depth at WD if they have to play Sindhu.
