    QUOTE=DecoyDan;1361854]Hi all,

My name is Dan and I'm from Salinas. a few people and I are playing Badminton at Hartnell College. My friends and I are trying to find a group of people to play with and hopefully a place that will allow a few hours of gym time to do some. According to prior threads, weekend mornings at Monterey Sports Complex is the place to be. I'm checking a few places in Salinas to see if there is any other possible places to play. I may talk to Hartnell to see if they will start a club or something.
Let me know and let see if we can't get something together.[/QUOTE]

They provide shuttles, you just need a racket and shoes that won't scuff a gym floor.

It's free the first time. After that, either $5/night or $45 for 3 months.

Thanks. Are you going to play on Wednesday night? If I can switch work with co-worker, I might be able to make it on Wednesday... See you soon.

I can't make it this Wednesday, but there are always people there. You'll be able to get games any Monday or Wednesday.

    Thanks Jay:

I guess I'd see you a little bit later.

    A few questions to ask:

    1. how many courts does it have??
    2. do they play feather or plastic birdie??
    3. do they play single or double most of the time???
    4. any room for chaning clothes or taking shower??

    1. 4 courts
    2. Plastic, but a few ppl will play with feather if you want to. We have to supply our own feather birds if we want to use them.
    3. Doubles, but a few ppl will play singles if you want to
    4. Changing, yes. I think showers too, but not 100% sure

    Hi Jay:

I went to play badminton with the group in York High school on Wednesday(during my working hours). Unfortunately, you could not be there to meet with me. I had a good time playing over there. Those people are nice enough to play with me and I did not even need to setup the court. Anyway, thanks a lot. Keep in touch.

I'm also interested in joining a badminton group in the Monterey area. I currently play at Bintang in Sunnyvale Tues-Thurs, but I will retire in a few months and will be in Monterey full time. Currently I can play Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday.

What days and times do people play at Monterey Sports Center? Are drop-ins welcome?

Sorry, I have no idea about that place since I am new to this area too but you can play at York High School(in Monterey) gym every Monday & Wednesday. You can sign up for the memeber to play there or pay $5 to drop in.(Hope they are doing the same since I have not player for 6 months.)

Take care & have fun there.

    Hi everyone!
I'm visiting a relative in the Monterey Area and wanted to know if there's a group that I can play with tomorrow 3/24 Saturday at MPC in the morning...one group mentioned as early as 7am but I was curious to know how late (like, I'll probably be there around 1030am) people stay...looking forward to meeting new friends and playing with more people :)

Hi. I am spending next few weeks in Monterey and wondering if there is any place to play badminton. I noticed that magical date is 10th of September 20 after which some activities (I assume indoor ones) will be permited- is that correct?
