Leechongwei's interview after his final : “I could not keep up with Srikanth’s speed today. He was too good,” said the 35-year-old. “I tried to break his resolve but Srikanth is a difficult man to beat when he is determined. “Overall, the Indian team played well. “They were more aggressive and determined to win. “I know that our mixed pair tried to give a good start. We as a team accept our defeat. It’s not right to blame one or two players. We’ll rise together in the individual competition.”
6/17 south africa , kenya, trindad and tobago, jamaica, northern ireland and senegal. Couldn't recognize the others.
I would consider the following Commonwealth countries to be more established in badminton: Australia Pakistan Malaysia New Zealand India Canada Singapore Scotland Sri Lanka England
Of the above Malaysia and India are already one of the best in the world with Malaysia having Former World No.1 LCW n others And India having Srikant Kidambi the current World No.1 and former World no.1 in Women singles Saina Nehwal and World No.3 womens PV Sindhu etc. I think rest other countries need to up their training pertaining badminton.
LCW played nice but definately couldnt keeo up with the pace of the current World No.1 Srikant Kidambi. Kidambi is a determined player and u can see it on his face everytime he plays he is always calm never reacts as hastingly as most of the badminton players do on their successful points etc. LCW gave a hard fight but world no.1 was just too good for him to beat and SK got the well deserving victory
Yes, I agree. The forthcoming Thomas and Uber Cup competitions will reveal more of which country are the serious contenders for the men's and women's team crowns. Do expect upsets though.
It seems like a new fan for srikanth has emerged. Are you from india. Dont mistake me. The way you wrote 'u' for 'you' confirmed it. Sent from my SM-G600FY using Tapatalk
Yeah i am for fellas who r educated enough to understand the english language knw wht these short forms r all about. U got it it right..Im one of the fans of the current World No.1 SK
Well malaysia has LCW who is undoubtedly one of the best badminton players in the world and perhaps the reason why Malaysia should be proud of its stature and medals that LCW has brought for Malaysia. Besides I was referring to the CWG nations and the ones listed in the post, had it been in all nations then there are many like China,Korea,Thailand,Taiwan,Indonesia,Japan etc But because we are talkin about CWG here then India and Malaysia are on the Top for sure
Nothing wrong here.. he didn't mention "the best in the world" Apart from Women department, Malaysia still have top player in MS, MD & XD. Not no.1 rank but still can bring fear to opponent.
Commentator at his savage best. Lol Leechongwei vs Ugandan player on court. LCW was leading 18-2 , and when Ugandan player won a point because of LCW's error, then commentator says " Brilliant. He got 3 ". I am like ROFL
Satwik and Aswini paired up only 6 months before and they are doing extremely well. One of the Malaysian pair whom they gonna meet tomorrow is soon huat/shevon. The Indians have beaten two Malaysian pairs over the last six months since they were teamed up. On Monday, Satwik-Ashwini pulled off an upset win over Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying that led to Malaysia’s 3-1 downfall in the mixed team final. “We don’t want to be their third Malaysian victim,” said Shevon. In fact, Shevon and Soon Huat are determined to make up for the disappointing loss of their teammates. “We’ll surely be out for revenge for our teammates if we are to meet the Indians. We’ll be well prepared,” added Shevon.
What happened to Ruthvika? Retired against Kirsty. Didn't she just came out of injury? I finally thought she was ready for something significant (a bronze here atleast)
