Indeed, Lin YH exploits Lu GZ weakness at front area, Lu needs more exposures in international competition.
The more experienced Lin Yu Hsien denies China clean-sweep, def. Lu Guangzu in three games, 12-21 / 21-12 / 21-14.

36-yr-old Hu Yun, the top seed, lost badly to Wisnu Prasetyo, 21-7,21-6, in only 18 minutes.

Wei Nan is also in the draw.
For XD, there's a cross-border partnership between CHN Liu Lin and MAS Yap Qar Siong.

WS Deng Joy Xuan, formerly known as Deng Xuan from CHN, is participating. Btw, Joy is playing for HKSAR currently and is being coached by Wang Chen, former CHN player turned coach.

Surprise that CHN sends their junior WS Wang Zhi Yi and Wei Yaxin as well as junior MS Bai Yupeng, including some junior doubles players, that immediately after last week's Lingshui Masters WTS100 event. Apparently, Wang Zhiyi is playing practically non-stop; perhaps CBA is grooming her for heavier responsibility in future as she is still only 17 years old now.

Not only that, cheam june wei, who was the runner up and and champion for the Finnish IC and Dutch IS, retired 1st round.

Both Leong and cheam played the whole first game n lost.

I suspect the reason is jet lag and lack of rest. How can you be playing 3 competition in successive order, be at Netherlands on Sunday and be back in Malaysia playing on Tuesday?

i think only Lee Chong Wei, Lin Dan, Chen Long, Viktor Axelson, Shon Wan Ho etc can play 3 competitions in a row, althought some of them are unlikely to be champion for 3 competitions...

Well the coach probably didn't plan well for them.

Meanwhile, wei nan managed to win the first game from a tightly fought game against an unknown Azerbaijan player

Wei Nan is being forced into a rubber game. Goodness me, age is certainly catching up with the 2 top seeded Hong Kong players

Wei Nan's loss to who, from Azerbaijian? What to make of it ?!

To think that Wei Nan, now 34 years old, born 4th Jan 1994, once, some time end last year, talked about aiming for Tokyo 2020.

Wei Yaxin was promoted from the qualifiers only to meet her compatriot Wang Zhiyi in the WS 1st round, rotten luck.

Ade Resky Dwicahyo is the former Indonesian junior player at 2016 WJC.

There are exactly two former Indonesian players which bring new country flag Azerbaijan : Ade Resky Dwicahyo and Azmy Qowimuramadhoni. Their debut as Azerbaijan's player at 2018 European Men's & Women's Team Championships last February.

    I should think so.

It's rare for CBA to field their junior level players in so many tournaments, competing so actively in both junior and senior low-tier events. That's good to see, actually, as otherwise CHN juniors tend to lose out on headstart to others when they eventually joined the senior pro circuit.

Wang Zhiyi, unlike Wei Yaxin, has progressed far in the last few tournaments she played in, I'd expect her fitness and stamina to be tested. Anyway, it's beneficial for young guns like her to be put through the mill, should stand her in good stead in future.

Wang Zhiyi dropped G1, 18-21, to Wei Yaxin, accumulated fatigue taking a toll on her finally ?

Wang Zhiyi takes G2, 21-7, with a vengeance.

Only Azmy debuted, Ade Resky can't represent Azerbaijan in team events/WBC until 2019.
