Only just had shoulder surgery in April. Recovered by August. Ish. By September, as a result of extra activities undertaken in order to regain fitness I've worn out bits of my right hip.I haven't been able to do anything involving legs since November.

Symptoms were like bursitis, but I need keyhole surgery to remove peculiarities of my joint in order to avoid future general wear issues. Gutted.

Surgery completed successfully. One incision has minor infection. Now two weeks post op and can walk around fine. Quad is mega tight, but otherwise things are looking good for a swift recovery. hope to be on court soon.

The surgery went quite well. There was reasonable amount of cartilage damage but it was repaired. The bursar pain is gone...I used to be able to feel it even while walking.

Now the main problem is sore hip flexor which had been aggravated by bone removal close to the muscle attachment site.

Physio is happy with my progress. Still waiting for 3 month mark before I can realistically get back on court for gentle introductions

Well, physio etc after surgery didn't go well. I had an injection in September to try and improve healing but that had no effect. I then had ANOTHER hip arthroscopy in Jan/Feb 2017 and that helped a reasonable amount, although still lingering issues... I was back in hospital about a month ago for yet ANOTHER injection. That also helped a little.

Finally I'm back to playing though! Let's see how long this lasts!

Maybe have another surgery coming up...IT band is rubbing badly on greater trochanter still. Been stretching it for a long while now and still have issues... will hold-off for a little while, but if still not seeing improvement near Christmas then I'll be going under the knife again.

Playing a bit (at most once per week), but playing triggers a reasonable muscle reaction and makes walking slightly painful for the rest of the week. Normally in gym 2-3 times a week for squats + dead lifts, but tweaked my back so can't do anything much atm.

Another injection incoming! Tendon starting to be persistently sore under heavy stress (even isometric stress)

Should have had injection by now, but stupid hospital lost my forms... secretary said they've done this a lot and previously argued with her that she never gave them the forms. Now she feels vindicated since it's happened to someone else (I handed the forms directly in to radiology).

Tried badminton couple days ago. Movement was very bad. The worst its been in a long while. Lost all explosiveness. Perhaps more worrying can barely hit a clear... so many mishits on simple shots.

On the upside the 'aftermath' was not as bad as the last time I played (Mar 28). Slight glute strain as per usual, but absent was the hip pain under twisting.

gym ok... improved shoulder press again.

I think amleto will fully heal his body one day, much better than it ever was. It's the effort that shows the impossible will happen/

The NHS. It's crap. Not enough people care enough and think it's a wonderful thing. The idea is good but see how it works in practice without much alternative.

    Take care @amleto
