I do agree with GC and MF who said just now that having a day off before the final would be a good thing for the THA UC Team after their highly-charged victory over Team CHN to enable the THA players to sort of come down to earth and mentally prepare themselves for the final battle.

Should have let CHN proceed to final haha two premature celebrations ended up in misery
Unfortunately JPN team is just too strong.

It'll be a closer fight between the two teams but the edge still goes to JPN, better for CHN to field CYF, HBJ and GFJ instead of LXR, said with the benefit of hindsight.

    I dont agree

I agree that there should be a break day after the group stage to prepare for the whole KO stage but not too much after SF to F

For me, the depth of the team is a big factor on why a team can win the trophy and the 3 consecutive days is a way to showcase this (except the Thomas who get extra day because of money thingy)

Exactly my point. At least they would have been much readier physically for the final if they didn't break down under the pressure yet again.

Now the real final celebration begins.

    Congrats to JPN

Congrats Japan! It really wouldn't have felt right if Japan didn't win this year, as much as I would have liked a closer tie for the home fans!

But I think Thailand will still be very proud to make the finals, and they have so much promise for the future.

What am I supposed to do for the next 2 hours? Had reserved it for this Uber final and now it's too late to plan anything this late. :D:D

THA-JPN, 3-0. Nozomi Okuhara is above a level of Nitchaon Jindapol, demolishes her opponent, 21-12 / 21-9. A very well deserved winner, Japan to regain Uber Cup, they are the best women's team in the world, congrats :)
Overall, it's a disappointing final day to watch lop-sided match instead of high intense showdown.

It's clear she has been saving herself for the Uber Cup -- it was very professional of her & her coaches to have her drop out of the world tour as soon as she was injured and never try to win anything until the Uber Cup.

Personally I'd rather have better quality matches, and I think 3 singles and 2 doubles is already plenty of depth. They should separate the Thomas and Uber semifinals into separate days.

I guess that was your sentiment during all those 3-0 and 3-1 victories of China over the past decades as well.

This just means THA wasn't good enough. Both teams had played the same number of days and the number of ties. JPN won their ties much easier than THA proved that they are indeed the best of all in this tournament.
