Hmmm... so I would say that it's not really a .58 diameter string, right? Do you have a reference ping from BGAS?
No, would have to look it up in this thread. But Daniel said it‘s the same as AS when he measured the thickness. Still, feels tighter somehow. Has this glassy feel like R4X110.
Just started using CarlTune and I got 1396-1400Hz on a DZS with R4X110 @ 13kg/29lbs (no +2). Does that seem normal? Saw @youcantseeme got a 1321Hz on a JS10 with BG80 @ 12.5/13kg so I guess mine is ok?
I digged it out for you. Your seems slightly high, but my job is nearly 3 years old and I didn't ran at this time diamond-dusted clamps. So yours seems correct, but I never strung R4X110 in the last 2.5 years and did totally 4 jobs with it, so I don't know how it turned out with my current set-up. My current clamps gained me nearly 2 lbs, so approx. you are spot-on.
Hello all, I was wondering if anyone ever used a phone app to measure string tension? Could you please share your thoughts on its accuracy and consistency from your experience? For example, I started using the "stringster" app on iOS. I had my racket strung at 23 lbs and the app measured it at 23.8 lbs. The app does mention that pre-stretched strings will measure slightly higher at the start. After a couple of sessions, the tension dropped to 22.8 lbs when re-measured. I could feel some reduction in tension as expected compared to a fresh string, but I am no expert when it comes to telling a difference in 1-2 lbs. So, I am hoping to get other users' experience with such an app for comparison. Thanks! **If your racket model is fairly new and common, it should appear on the Stringster app. Otherwise, just key in your racket frame dimensions
I'm using Spectral Audio for Android. A bit cumbersome but very precise. Peak on. Zoom in on the lower frequency. And start plucking that string...
Well, it's an audio spectrum analyser, not a string app. I guess there are a ton frequency measure apps, but this one makes it easy to spot the "primary" frequency, so you avoid posts here like "I'm getting 2275 Hz from my LN #5 string in my Apacs racket!" Sent from my StringLab using TapaTalk. Cheers, FeatherBlaster
This post sums up the topic "Stringster" in harsh words, but overall pretty accurately: (https://www.badmintoncentral.com/fo...y-too-high-tension.176428/page-4#post-2699644) For some rackets it seems to work fine, for other it doesn't. I would always recommend to go with a simple frequency measuring app (Carltune, Cleartune, etc.) and make yourself a list with the ping frequencies of various setups. If in doubt, post your results in here and get feedback from others based on their available data and experience.
I strung BG66 on my BS12L at 25Lbs. On stringster app, it said 28Lbs. After 2 weeks, it's now 26.5Lbs. This seems very high to me considering I asked for 25Lbs. On tuning app, it's now 1254Hz. What do you guys think BG66 at 1254Hz translates to?
Seems like stringster is correct. You stringer messed up.your request. Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
Just restring ax88d with bg66um, request 27lb and 1st time use stringster for fresh string, result 29.5lb. maybe this is the secret of my favorite stringer, always increase my tension request, so my fresh string feel so goooood. And more easy to snap.
