I think he meant aggressive but tend to make too many unforced errors. Or maybe less patient in his game which lead to unforced errors.. My apologies if I'm wrong. :p

He is so aggressive to the point that he makes so many errors by playing extremely high risk shots, thats probably whats meant by greedy.

He has potential but he has to learn how to play smart. His game in the AJC Final has been pretty one dimensional.

[h=2]Teck Zhi wants to be the next Chong Wei[/h]
PASIR GUDANG: Former Asian Junior champion Soo Teck Zhi scored his first upset win in senior ranks when he dumped professional Mohd Arif Abdul Latif to reach the men’s singles quarter-finals in the Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold at the Pasir Gudang Municipal Stadium.

The 19-year-old Teck Zhi showed great aggression when he ended his former senior Arif’s gallant run in the GP Gold with a convincing 21-12, 21-15 win.

Arif had beaten top seed Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand a a day ago.

After Thursday’s win, Teck Zhi vowed to give his next opponent, former world No. 3 Simon Santoso of Indonesia, a run for his money.

“Everyone is looking for the next Lee Chong Wei and I hope to be the one. Give me another one or two years,” said a confident Teck Zhi.

It looks like Simon got riled up by that reference to Lee Chong Wei.
Simon has been trashed so many times that I bet he doesn't like Lee Chong Wei :D

however STZ reaching QF in GPG is already quite good, rather than stop at early rounds...

Now the BAM must send him to play more GPGs in future and then SS if qualify...

Happened to be at a level IV world tournament and saw Soo Teck Zhi vs Chia Hung Lu, who is almost 40 places above him in the BWF rankings (but 2 years younger). From what I see STZ's stamina is not passable at international level (goes for most of the other Malaysian singles players, they are simply outlasted in the game). He played a very athletic and attacking game at the start, then went out of steam and temperamental in the second set and tried to slow the pace to ridiculous levels. Lu Chia Hung played a very patient and clear headed game.

There was an incident of getting tapped in front of the net in which the birdie hit his forearm. He used that as an excuse to towel down, and did the same minutes later pointing to the same spot on his arm. In the rubber set he even made a big deal on a net call which he clearly smashed 1-2 feet out. He was harassing the umpire quite a bit. Incidentally, he beat the 17 year old Chia Hung last year pretty easily. I wonder why the stark difference in stamina and composure this time.

Just saw his game against boonsak ponsana at the purple league just now. Obviously his skills and physical strength has improved. Seems to me a better player than dzulfadly or will be better soon. Match temperament can be better. Certainly made boonsak earn his win. Definitely a much more exciting player to watch now. Hopefully he won't fizzle out like the others

Don't think so unless he changes his mental approach and body language.

That's a nice win against one of Indonesia's uprising stars. I would love to see a match against Jonatan Christie and Ihsan Maulana though. So far he's our best youngster? I don't see similar performances coming from Joo Vern, June Wei, Satheishtharan etc.

June Wei & Satheishtharan still under junior department and will compete WJC this year, meanwhile Joo Ven is already under senior batch, same batch with Teck Zhi...

What a shame. What is happening to the others now like June Wei, Joo Ven and Satheishtharan? We have quite a layer of younsters since 2015. I wonder why we can't make it competitively at senior level?
