You know for Sindhu I guess winning consecutive Silvers is what Im sort of happy for...I mean I know its sad for a player like PVS and LCW to stand at these grand podiums again and again with Silver but then thats luck i guess.

Besides I think if she has won silvers for last 3 years in Majors which has sort of build up a perception of her as a silver girl in the Badminton world.

People calling her Female LCW..But I think she is still young and she may win a gold who knows However I feel she has made herself a name that would certainly be remembered in the Badminton world.

Her consistency of being at podium even though as silver medalist is enough for her to be registered as a player which is now safe in the peoples mind.

Though who I fear about the most is TTY...for she still has to win her 1st ever WC:eek:

    See this:

... Kento Momota beat China's Shi Yuqi 21-11 21-13 to become the first Japanese man to win the world title.

"There was a time when I was away," he said. "But I got a lot of help and support from many people. This title is a good reward for them."

    https://www.bbc.com/sport/badminton/45074676

Mostly BBC Sport would give their news title with England players, that's why their Badminton section would have the duo Adcock and Rajiv Ouseph's thing. And for the World Championships result, Marin's achievement with her historic third world title would sell more than the first champs.

I think this is BWF fault if people call her females LCW. They should make a system where everyone gets the recognition for the efforts they put in. Thats where ambiguity exists.

Imagine if TTY gets lazy and doesnt perform the best anymore, fans will be flocking out. Its not good for promotion of badminton as a sport. Bar the olympics , everything should be equal. How can a sport hurt a player confidence because of one tournament that is played every year?

Its like a SuperseriesPremier tournament but BWF change the name, so that it sounds cool and players are hacked bcoz she didnt win it even though she is the best in the field. How can a player always wins all the tour? Im sure she cant win all the SSP tournament . Its just happen to be this though.

Exactly..I mean i went on twitter last night and It was all pretty much LCW and PVS going on I mean what has these both players done to recieve hate this much ?

I mean dont they understand to even be a Silver medalist You have to BEAT THE FINEST Players in SEMIs and PVS beat two Japanese power houses AY and NO in straight games in two consecutive days.

I know CM is the best and a legend of her own now but I think its legendary for an Indian player itself to be the second Strongest in the WS department ..I mean PVS has 4 WC Medals and how hard it is to get one let alone having 4.

    20180806_083142.png 20180806_083224.png

I mean i find it funny but also sad....PVS at least has 4 WC Medals and Im sure even if she wins consecutive silvers she would at least not be the player who would be forgotten..and its for both PVS and LCW they might not win Golds but they are players who people can hate but cant ignore...thy might get beaten in thr finals but they return home with medals.

I would rather have and be blessed to have SILVER JINX of PVS and LCW then a Quarter Finals Jinx of TTY who i fear if keeps failing her,she would be a forgotten history.

I don't think it's "hate". Nobody is hating when they write that, but when a player consistently gets silver in the biggest tournaments it shows that they have some kind of mental block that just can't get them over the line. Usually getting silver vs getting gold = separating the great from the greatest.

By my count, Marin just turned 25 in June this year. The next Olympic games will be held when she just turns 27. I think she'd still have a realistic chance then. I agree by 2024, her chances will be slim. In fact, I doubt she'd still be playing hehe. Anyway, Marin will be going for a 4th World Champs next year, and may still be competitive in 2021 and 2022 also.

Kind of agree of with you.....I think The similarity of these two players LCW and PVS is that they are just known for being "SILVER SPECIALIST" or "SILVER KING/QUEEN" though PVS is still young and she would get many chances to get a WC GOLD but i guess its her 3 Year 3 Major Consecutive Silvers which has made her like the only player after LCW to follow his steps..and folks are freakin out.

I guess even with this Silver Jinx she has atleast made her mark in Badminton world which is pretty good for her legacy ..Cause its very important for a player to keep appearing at great podiums be it for Bronze or Silver cause thats what IMO makes players legends...might not be greatest but Someone who would be remembered.

One player of such Peter gades who never won an Olympics but his reappearance at WC Podiums is what ensured him the tittle of legend...someone who people saw as a consistent face and even if they want they just cant forget him.

In WS i think if PVS had won a Bronze or Gold in OLY it wont really affect her personality or give her the tittle of "SILVER QUEEN" i think its her HATRICK of Silvers in three of the biggest Tournaments which has now made her the first WS player to be remembered as SILVER SINDHU .

Though I hope she will break this jinx and would earn a Gold cause now earning a bronze wouldnt really be that good for her....I feel sad for PVS,LCW who might remain "Silver Legends" and just ONE of the GREATEST not THE GREATEST and little for Fukushima/Hirota too.:(

Imagine what does it do to mentality of Sindhu if she listens to people calling her female LCW or to young aspiring indian shuttlers.

This is the mentality that BWF creates when they make 1 tournament above all when the truth is its the same with some of the top tournaments. Even the points dont show much difference.

Even though she won ChinaOpen and beat some chinese along the way too. That is not top top tournaments?

BWF doesn't define the prestige of tournaments. Players, associations, and to some degree the fans, do. For example, all the players clearly took the WC most seriously this year out of all the tournaments played, but BWF hasn't been shoving that down people's throats.

I dont. I think its more of half hearted prestige. No prizemoney.1000 points higher than SSP. Not saying its a lousy tour, Its just one top tournament like any other.

That is because BWF makes it that way..

Exactly..I mean By no means shes any less...I would say her presence for last 4 WC Podium is what has already made her one of the greatest WS presently.
Just take a look at this list I think people now lookin up on wikki and seeing PV sindhu and LCW as SILVERs or bronze have made them put these two greats in Same category.

    Screenshot_20180806-093845.jpg Screenshot_20180806-093845.jpg 20180806_094005.png

I think BWF need to recognize the strength of all players equally..and these tournaments should have somethin done to their Magnanimity...I mean they just make it huge but then its all the same.

I think LCW is the only player in the world who must be aware of the exact emotions PVS is going through I think No one could better understand her pain than LCW.

I literally feel so sad for her PVS and LCW:(

I agree they need prize money for WC. It needs to be the most amount if not equal to the World Tour Finals.

Yeah they just make it huge but its actually the same.

If I am PVS or LCW, i will treat it just like any tournaments, that way it is what it is. The only bad thing is , i dont get any money in this tournament.

I totally second your thought...like what sort of a Vague WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP is this where there is no Prize money yet the highest points ?

Its sounds just not that fair.
