Hi Everyone, I am a player from the UK playing at a high club level hoping to reach county standard. I was looking at purchasing a new racket more on the control side to add the extra bit of consistency in my shots.I currently play with the JS10 which is very quick, however, a bit inconsistent at times. I am not too worried about power since I can seem to generate quite a lot anyway. I am looking at potentially getting the Arcsaber 11 or Astrox 88S since I play frontcourt men's doubles however also play men's singles. If you knowledgeable people could give me some advice it would be much appreciated There are not many reviews of the Astrox 88S and no comparisons of the Astrox 88S to Arcsaber 11. Also if anyone has the Astrox 88S can it still be used for singles or does the racket do what it is designed for holding the shuttle longer for the frontcourt player (designed for doubles). Many thanks Daniel
If you decide to go for arcsaber 11 I have 1 I might trade for your js10 if it's 4u.. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
Theres a thread dedicated to Astrox88. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/index.php?threads/yonex-astrox-88s-88d-2018.175104/ A lot of comparison to Arc11, and most of them said its better than Arc11, and some even said its better than JS10.
I feel the slight punch , and taping on front court, is a bit better than Arcsaber 11. Front Court rackets rating. Astrox 88S: 9/10 Arcsaber 11: 8.5/10 BS 12: 8/10 JS 12 : 8/10
Astrox 88 is quite head heavy, but most people that see this thread will suggest A88 just because the pros, gideon and sukamuljo in particular are using it. Many dont see that they are pros, and can handle a lot more of the racket than us layman can. Anyways Arc 11 is my choice.
Many thanks for all the advice I have decided to purchase the Arcsaber 11. Hoping this will give me a bit more control in my game Also, Stever7425 if you would like my JS10 it is a 4u I have 2 of them would sell them for £75 each if you wanted them let me know however they are the older paint blue and white not the new paint orange and green
Thanks ill keep thay in mind.. how are the grommets holding up, sinking issues,? Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
The ax series is quite weird. Im a d10 user. Ax77 3u is real heavy due to heavy head. Ax774u is ok. Slightly lighter than d10. Can feel the head heavy. Ax88s/d 4u is too light. Only slight head heavy causing the overall weight too light. Ax88s/d 3u is ok. Not really very heavy . Slightly heavier than d10 due to the slight head heavy. So currently I keep ax77 4u and ax88 3u.
In all honesty I wouldnt say there's a big difference. It depends on whether you generate power better with a stiffer shaft or more flexible shaft.
