I think skill wise this game Fajar Rian was superior but Markus Kevin was much stronger mentally

even though fajar/rian lost I still don't know who's the best player in that match, fajar or kevin ? both played amazing.

I still can't believe Kevin and Marcus won after that mid G3 disaster, I thought this was Fajar and Rian's to lose.

Best player of the match is Fajar, in my opinion. But I guess it was not good enough. Both Rian and Marcus were tensed and made a lot of mistakes.

It's not. Objectively, its just not.
Some ppl may value it over the WC, but that is for some sentimental reason only and has no basis in facts. Facts: the standards are lower and the competition is worse. The only redeeming factor of this tournament is its rarity, otherwise no one would care at all. Even BAC has higher standards and similar, slightly better competition.

true, fajar/rian have a very good shot quality. if this match was actually like some open tournament I think they would win.

sorry i don't agree in my opinion AG is definitely > than bac

AG is mini-olympic compared to Olympic itself

as for whether AG is > WC now that one is debatable for sure

It's almost as if play styles and good/bad match ups existed...imagine that, players having individual strengths and weaknesses that don't match up equally against everyone, what a crazy world that would be....:D

I took a peek at the total medal tally so far, it surprised me CHN have 88 golds, 62 silvers and 43 bronzes, total 193 medals, a run-away leader at the moment, even her bronzes are equal to second-place JPN's golds !

AG > BAC because it is every 4 years.
For badminton specifically AG is only missing Denmark players (+ Carolina Marin), so in a way it is close to Olympics.

Much scarier than Olympics though. You can lose and be champion in OG but not here and plus its every 4 years. So yeah, last man standing.

Well you can say every tournament is worth it for sentimental reason. But the best players are the one that have the most money and not just AG/WC titles at the end of day.
