    Both spell trouble for them

But I'd say they want to get revenge on He/Tan for last defeat

SF is a good result regardless, they dont need to win titles anymore this year. Let other MD proof their worth. Well MD is super competitive so there bounds to be new winner :)

    And Du/Li won the match 21-16 21-10
    What's going on?

For the first time since how long there is only 1 JPN WD left and there are 2 CHN WD pairs in SF plus 1 INA

Well it actually could be a good thing to be able to win the title here now in this particular new hall if this was where the Olympics would take place in 2 years.

Li Yinhui being mentored by Zhang Nan in XD is paying dividends, her partnership with Du Yue in WD is getting better, together they just toppled the World Champions, Matsutomo/Nagahara, in two straight sets comprehensively, 21-16,21-10 !

So Zhang Nan's bottomless patience and endless support all this time paid off?

Wow, that was pretty amazing beatdown by Du/Li, beating the reigning World Champion Mayu/Wakana in straight game, just after beating the reigning Olympic Champion Taka/Matsu.

He/Tan displaying better form to be taken for Olympics 2020 than LC/ZN

Although I feel they should win this title if they beat Minions. I can only say its too bad if they beat Minions and didnt win the title like MalaysiaOpen. It would be silly in a way cause they are not bad.

    you are contradictin yourself

based on your reasoning of competitiveness:
MD is not very competitive since Minions have won many of the titles these past 2 years...
