His play against Momota certainly looked like he had no game plan whatsoever. Quite disappointing! I don't want to see him become just another runner à la Du Pengyu, Chen Jin and Tian Houwei. So far it looks like he only knows how to play his compatriots -- Lin Dan and Chen Long -- and the other opponents are beaten by sheer physicality, rather than tactics, which doesn't work against Momota.
Felt like Shi went into the game with ZERO hope in winning so he just played like whatever. Kept lifting to Momota's forehand instead of backhand. Momota just casually smashed into Shi's backhand side for easy points. Shi has potential. Need to work on his mental game for sure.
Should be a good final, i like Ginting with his explosiveness, great court coverage and good at the net too, maybe not as good as Momota deceptively and defensively but on his day he could cause an upset, smart money is still on Momota though.
