Japan Uber Cup team has the world no. 1 and World Champion of WS, plus Olympic Gold medalist in WD wow......
I wonder whether it is the first time in history that a japanese women singles player reaches the world n°1 ranking? Probably I guess. Superb achievement for Babyguchi edit: got my question answered by BWF she is indeed the first japanese singles player in history to get the WR n°1 <iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/po...wfbadminton/posts/10155300136926316&width=500" width="500" height="521" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowTransparency="true" allow="encrypted-media"></iframe>
Scratch "women". First singles player from Japan. Since she's injured and can't get any points from the Asia Championships, she'll be knocked off the top spot if TTY defends her title at the Asia Championships, though.
Can't tell you, nothing could bring me to watch this. I doubt she's featured in the show and I suspect this is part of a promotion, as there's currently the inter high school tournament going on, which AY apparently won 3 times. Some of her clubmates were also involved in providing the real-life models for the animation.
Rough summary courtesy of @kurako "You missed five-year-old Akane knocking a shuttlecock around and stating that her one ambition in life is to become a badminton player, ... possibly egged on by a slightly overbearing mother."
Unfortunately not that I know of. I found it from browsing over at badmintoncn which has a good collection of other images http://bbs.badmintoncn.com/thread-924576-1-1.html
Thanks for the link.....nice insider pictures...... I've always wondered who is that Caucasian woman on the Malaysian team.....now I know (her role)......
Yamaguchi may be judged to be off-form at the moment, but a least she has an excuse for her performance at the Denmark Open. She was the only National Team A player taking part in Japan's National Athletic Meet that finished as recently as October 9. Not only did she take part (singles + doubles), she also got as far as the final before losing to Akita Prefecture's representatives from Hokuto Bank. Yamaguchi played for her home prefecture, Fukui, and ironically met up with and beat her Saishunkan team-mates (Kumamoto Prefecture) at the QF stage.
