Zhang nan seems to be error prone lately...

I don't understand what Li Yinhui's role on court in this XD.
No coach is sitting with them in this match, indicating this is just for formality? I guess ZN will concentrate in MD in this tournament hopefully.

Zhang Nan is just bad at back court, unfortunately. He needs to find a partner who have a strong smash.
Better pair Li Yunhui with Lu Kai at this point. Her potential seems to be wasted on Zhang Nan.

It's sad for the duo Mads if they had another R1 exit.

I don't think Lee/Kim is court-fit again, maybe just a little bit of it. Kim especially is horrendous most of the time.
They certainly need more time to adjust on court, which gives a bit of edge to the Mads duo.

I don't think it would make any difference.
I suppose the coaches pair her with Zhang Nan in XD so she could improve her front court play, not to support ZN. It's the other way around. I hardly see her hunting for the shuttle at the net, she tend to wait to kill, instead of to go to kill. I guess she is just not a natural front court player.

It's good that ZSW/HYQ are taking a break, they seem a little off the boil at the moment. If they've met the quota for the mandatory WTS events, there's no penalty for skipping the HK Open WTS500.

It takes two to tango, brother. Imagine if (healthy) Liliyana Natsir and Zhao Yunlei is still pairing with them.

I don't know. It is possible that Natsir will play at Indonesia Masters as her last tournament.

They have skipped India Open, Thailand Open, Singapore Open. That's already the maximum number of tournaments that the top committed players can skip.

Just don't understand why Zhang Nan also playing mixed doubles, Zhang/Li don't work well. He/Du combination seem more potential to climb on top.

A test for China mixed doubles without their hotshots Zheng/Huang whether they're still unstoppable here and chance for other competitors to capitalise it. Second seed Wang/Huang were troubled by 2017 World Championships bronze medalists Lee CH/Chau HW, too bad that HKG pairs committed many errors at the end of third game. Three seeded pairs have tumbled simultaneously, Zhang/Li, Christiansen/Pedersen and Chan PS/Goh LY to their respective opponents.

It will be long day tommorow and finished late night, 67 matches using four courts.

That's the idea of the coaches.
Zhang Nan's XD partnership at the moment is only for the benefit of Li Yinhui's development. I don't think the coaches ever expect this pair to climb to the top, that's probably all ZN's work himself. He always wanted to win double's double in 2020. But the coaches have other ideas, giving him LYH they know they don't have to worry about Zhang Nan's chance of even appealing to qualify to the Olympics. Now I suspect that they didn't even try pairing him with CQC was because they were afraid ZN/CQC might actually hit it off. Then they would have problems with WD and MD selections.

@Cheung Kento Momota vs Lin Dan match is scheduled at 8:00 pm Hong Kong Time. Assuming 2 hrs lag-time, how would you keep yourself fresh and comfy after a day full of hard-toil to come up with your best work at 10:00 pm night time ?
