Since everyone talk about marcus serve, I also wonder since when he's actually using tumbling serve ? it used to be only kevin that use that serve (after lyd retire).
Just recently I guess. Denmark Open or a bit before? He's Kevin's partner anyway, either he learned it from watching Kevin or Kevin actually teach him how to.
Marcus sat next to Chen Long on the airplane en route to HK yesterday. Good bye blue hair.. Welcome back blond hair.
Congrats to minions for becoming the first men's doubles pair to reach the 1-million-dollar prize money milestone. History!
Simply amazing! The last two years has been peak of Minions achievement with more to come in the future, they also receive bonuses from their respective clubs Djarum and Jaya Raya, WR#1 bonus from Ministry of Sport under Imam Nahrowi, huge contract with Yonex, they both are also Instagram influencer with paid partnerships with various brands. Minions making millions! Now that they have the fame and fortune, time to set eye on Tokyo 2020 gold.
Their biggest money must definitely from Yonex being WR1. Individually even all the titles in the tour combined still drawrfed by their Yonex contract. Gotta leverage being WR1.
Yeap, either their Yonex contracts or corporate sponsors. Either way they would want to maintain WR1 status, to keep the big money reeling in from sponsors. Minions has partnership with global and local corporations and products, e.g Toyota, Panasonic, Tag Heuer, Sunrise Yonex, Blibli.com, OBH Combiphar, Dettol, Sunglass Planet, Enzim, YB Aerosol, Chitato, ExtraJoss, etc. (source: their respective Instagrams). Corporates pay big bucks as their brand ambassadors.
Anyone has the link for replay or upload minions vs Boe/Mo match today, please let me know. Thanks!! Edit: Never mind. I found it
Kevin is so BM. His antics are annoying and all that but they're not extremely disrespectful. That last point against Boe/Morg today at the; HK Open was very disrespectful. Mocking Boe/Morg by deliberately clearing to them when the match was won, that is so childish and immature. He should show some sportsmanship and just end the match like everybody else. I had seen Kevin's antics before and as annoying as they were, I just thought he was a clown and nothing more. And I think Boe/Morg have been rude before and I don't like it when they are rude - but they are usually rude because they want to win, not to deliberately disrespect the other opponent. But that last point against Boe/Morg was just extremely disrespectful after the match was already won.
Minions triumphed at the last set 21-9! Minions already ahead 5:4 in H2H with Danish pair, Minions last lost 1 year and 2 months ago (having winning the last 4 meeting in a row). One step closer to (back to back) POTY 2018!
How could playing clear disrespectful? It's just a choice of shot after they lead a wide margin of 20-9. In WD there were so many occassions when the players just kept clearing to keep the rally going.
Because Kevin was deliberately clearing to Boe/Morg, inviting them to smash. Kevin was doing it to mock Boe/Morg's smash and to show that he can defend their smash (or to demonstrate to Boe/Morg that their smash is weak), after the game was already won at 20/9. Boe/Morg did not take his bait and they cleared it back. Eventually, Morgensten realized that Kevin would never stop his antics so Morgensten deliberated hit it out to end the match because he didn't want to play Kevin's game. Such poor sportsmanship from Kevin. No other doubles team does that to disrespect their opponents when the match was already won at 20 to 9 in the last set.
