yes I agree with you, woman single is the most competitive sector in world tour final if we compare from the other sector. it's not only one player who dominates be a champion in every tournament in 2018. Initially, I indicates from the beginning of the 2018 tournament, tai tzu ying will grab all the first trophy in every BWF tournament. but in reality, she didn't. I am looking forward to witness " A Great Show" from every player in this sector..
Yeah, I expect ZBW and ML to create some surprises. But, I'm not too sure about ML. For the top WS players, their matches will be fun to watch. Great match in this category will happen since the group stage.

withdraw happen in every tourney. Point is, the percent of players withdraw in ssf/wtf always higher than other race to guangzhou with someone run, some walk, some walk away

https://bwfworldtourfinals.bwfbadmi...-will-be-the-dark-horse-mens-singles-preview/ KM is the hot favorite, but the others won't let him easily win the match. CTC, SYQ, and ASG are the one to watched out. SWH can't be underestimated either.
I think XD is the least predictable. Everyone know that Zheng/Huang will take the title. For WS, I think there will be some surprises. Remember when TTY got eliminated in group stage last year? Even this time, TTY will not get easy win depending on the draw. From the ranking table of Race to Guangzhou, TTY can possibly drawn into the same group as RI and AY. Both RI and AY have beaten TTY this year. We can't say that a player is more favored than the others in WS.
I get this picture from Badmintalk, I will post the MS players statistic here. From the statistics, KM has the best win rate with 86.9%. He is also the only left handed player from all of 8 MS players. From all of the H2H, only KM vs KW match that has never happened.
Is it wrong for me to be more interested in PBL instead of this? hahhahaa Ohh how I really hope BWF adjusted their schedule more so that there 2 months available for such a league (plus another 1 month holiday break)
I don't think BWF cares about badminton league since there is no points awarded. C'mon, BWF is bigger than any badminton leagues.
that's the idea of Indonesian who does not have proper league I believe the future of badminton, if they want to succeed to be popular is on the present of local leagues The opinion that BWF is bigger than any badminton leagues are just about popularity preference. If, for instance, the fan bases are strongly prefering the leagues (because of rivalry, gameplay, entertainment aspects, or whatsoever), than that league is bigger than the international competition because usually there will be more money there Look at how Champions League has somehow become a bigger tournament than the World Cup
Well, everything have pros and cons. If league will be entered in BWF calendar, the number of tournaments should be reduced. I think badminton league needs to promote itself to gain popularity. Grand Slams are the prime examples. Honestly, I never feel that UCL become a bigger tournament than World Cup. To me, World Cup is and will always become the biggest tournament ever. Nationality is pretty strong in World Cup.
i would say it more like this: bwf does not award any points for badminton leagues because bwf does not care about them.

Interesting article that the straight-forward Morten Frost talking about the imminent BWF World Tour Finals : https://bwfworldtourfinals.bwfbadminton.com/news-single/2018/12/08/frost-top-seeds-should-win/ ------------------ “But to ensure the best players and pairs are at the year-end finals, there’s a few options that could be considered. “Perhaps only the Super 1000, Super 750 or Super 500 events should count towards the HSBC Race To Guangzhou. Or maybe the points are linked to the BWF World Rankings.” ------------------- We see some average players qualified for BWF WT Finals as the current formula to calculate point from 36 tournaments (3 + 5 + 7 + 10 + 11) can't guarantee World's BEST to secure their spot in Guangzhou.
