Really tempted to try that 90S. If possible could you give me a quick comparison/pros and cons of the 90s vs a JS10,js12? Already own a JS10 but wondering if it would feel too similar of a racket compared to it. Also do you seem to get more power from it vs a JS10 or it would be similar or worse?
Atleast for me, Jetspeed 10 is feeling totally different. AS90 has more power when clearing and smashing. Sweet spot is larger, frame has more flex and the racket has overall "easier playing feeling" compared to JS10. Jetspeed is still quicker frame (I guess due to smaller head size) which may be slight advantage when defending smashes and playing flat drives etc. Day by day, I like the Auraspeed more, but the JS10 stays still in the bag also
Thanks so much for the response Zeizei! Flexier with bigger head size and a bit easier. Would you say it’s closer to the JS12? Also, have you played with a 88S by any chance? Would you say it’s similar?
Jetspeed 12 is more head heavy and slower than Auraspeed 90S. Personally I don't like JS12 at all, but I know players who do . Sorry I don't have experience with Astrox -series.
I demoed the JS10 and really liked it. But if the 90S is a bit more forgiving I might go for that. Does the 90S feel more or less head-heavy (or similar) compared to the JS10? Edit: Looking for something with the feel of JS10 and less head-heavy than JS12.
Yeah probably Am I crazy if I get the JS10 as my main singles racket? It seems like it’s used mostly for doubles. I didn’t get more power from the JS12 than the JS10. Maybe I have a weird swing, but with every HH racket I played with, it’s like I reach top speed after I’ve hit the shuttle. (Sorry if this is off-topic)
The AS90 is not an easier version of the JS10. It just don't play the same way with significantly more flex and not the same feel I also think that the closest to what you're looking for is the js11
I played the JS10 4U for about 3 years in both singles and doubles, so I have a clear opinion on that. If your swing matches the JS10 and you're happy with the power you get from it, then what should stop you from using it in singles too? Going even further OT, you might want to check out the Li-Ning N7II (TurboCharging 70) if you get the chance. A little less stiff and a tad more weight in the head than the JS10, but I can't help but notice a little bit of JS10'ish feel from it. And it's noticeably more forgiving.
@s_mair I'm going to try N9ii as well. Since you're using both N9ii an JS10 - do you have to adjust the tempo a lot between these two? I guess there's much more flex in the N9ii. In Pauls reviews he says N9ii feels even-balance and the N7ii a little heavier in the head. And he thought N9ii was a little faster. I was under the impression that it was the other way around... but feelings are subjective of course. (now I'm even more OT...)
Yes, the timing is different so it always takes some rallies to adjust when switching between the two. And no offense to Paul, but this bit of his review is just plain wrong. The N7II has less weight in the head and is stiffer. We have a bunch of BCers who own both and so far, this has be an unanimous consent. But to be fair, Paul didn't have both rackets in parallel so his verdict was made by memory only. N7II is definitely closer to a JS10 in both head weight and stiffness than N9II. Not saying that this makes the N7II the better racket, mind you.
Ok, thanks. Some observations: Now when I'm looking a the "new" renamed Li-Nings there's actually some specs that I haven't seen before. Both The Turbocharging 70 (N7ii, white) and 75B (N9ii, black blue pink) have the balance point at 295. Then there's 70B (N7ii purple) head-lighter at 285 and 75D (N9ii green) head-heavier at 302. And then there are a lighter 5u "I-series".
so far, there hasn't been much feedback about the new variants 70B (@Rob3rt, my hope is on you to fill that void!), 75D and the I-series.
