Alongside newly launched Yonex Nanoflare new series, Yonex also launched Yonex Aerobite Boost string. The main string is 0.72mm and the cross is thinly 0.61mm. What do you guys think? Source: http://yonex.com/company/news/badmi...h-new-hybrid-badminton-string-aerobite-boost/
I think that 0.72mm on the straight strings seems excessive but there must be a reason why Yonex are saying that it delivers devastating cut smashes and hairpin shots other than purely for the sake of promoting it. I say we suck it and see.
What other reason could they possibly have outside of trying to sell the string? Sent from my SM-G965W using Tapatalk
Probably like aerobite with tighter feel (from medium to hard). Are they looking for a heritage of bg80?
IMO a too huge gap between 0.61 and 0.72. Can't play better than an AS/BG80 Combo or normal Aerobite. Such thick strings will never play well, regardless what you put on the cross.
Still got to give it a try. I'll probably stick to aerobite and my own hybrids though Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
Momota used them in the Malaysia tournament and just went out in round 1. Dunno what to think, on the one hand he's using the string so it can't be bad, but he also lost his first match :/ Axelsen is using them too and he's doing fairly well
Momota getting knocked out R1 was probably more of a mentality thing, and axelson was just knocked out by chen long in the semis. I know that momota was originally using aerobite, perhaps he wanted a thicker string on the mains? Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
Yeah Momota and Axelsen both used to use Aerobite and have both switched. Ginting hasn't though which is interesting he still used Aerobite. I wonder how much of a say these players get to be honest, of course they are paid to use what Yonex tells them to but I doubt they'd use a "bad" string
Did they really change? Wouldn't surprise me if Yonex just made a normal yellow aerobite for the two.
Yeah lol. Especially when they do it with racquets already, doing it by string I suppose would be easier as well. After all it's hard to tell what string a player has already Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
I wonder if there is a stringer who is at the Malaysian Masters in KL and uses this message-board who has seen both players' racquets and can tell us definitely whether or not they used the Aerobite Boost.
I think they did use it given Momota has now gone back to the White and Red Aerobite for this tournament he wouldn't change back if they played the same. Maybe he didn't like it :/
I surely want to try this string. The colours is wow...ugly. But as long as it feel like BG80, repulsive as aerobite then it should be ok.
