Chen Yufei played three matches this week at the CBSL, the last one yesterday (8th Dec, Saturday), when she has to play the WTF starting next Tuesday, not sure how it'd affect her physically but certainly at a slight disadvantage vis-a-vis her rivals as there is no easy opponent from the get-go.

If she enters the WTF title bout next Sunday, she may have another CBSL match awaiting her on Monday following. Hectic time for her, a test of her endurance. Hopefully, the experience will toughen and temper her, and stand her in good stead in future.

Heartiest Congratulations,Chen Yufei, what a resounding victory, it marks a huge breakthrough that will open a new chapter in your career, one that should see you ascend to greater heights and, hopefully, reach the top of the summit one day soon.

What a victory for CYF! This is her biggest title ever and a major one at that. With this win, she will rose to the 2nd rank, overtaking NO in the process. It will be her highest ranking ever. Also, because TTY can't defend her AE title, her points will drop, making the points gap become narrower.

What a giant leap of improvement that she did to win the prestigious All England. Chen YF absolutely has passed the stagnant He Bingjiao who once dubbed as CHN next big thing.

This has been a clear illustration of the saying: talent can only take you so far.

However, not all is lost. We have just witnessed how Li Yinhui / Du Yue's win at German Open spurred other Chinese WD pairs to a higher level. HBJ may draw inspiration from CYF's win and start to make her own way to the top.

Right, as Chen Yufei herself admitted in one of her interviews recently that since their junior days, she is always in awe of He Bingjiao, calling her a child prodigy , a genius, an opponent she could never beat , not even take a set off.

Still, personally, it's my belief that talent plus hard work will always triumph over the significantly less talented or untalented no matter how hard they try. In other words, hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard or, alternatively, hard work beats talent but only if talent doesn't work hard.

As for He Bingjiao...(sighs)...better not repeat myself, I 've said more than enough of her.

My prediction for this year is Tai Tzu Ying cannot defend her position and Okuhara/Sindhu will take the number 1 position, but suddenly Chen has become the number 2 now, and this is just March.

Chen didn't win any tournament in 2 years ??? (right ???) and now she has two "1000 tour" titles. Hope Nishimoto can go far like this

Splendid achievements ! Chen Yufei's best result yet in her budding career, back-to-back titles composing of one top-level prestigious All England Super 1000, unofficially dubbed the mini world championship in badminton circles, and another small tournament victory, the Swiss Open WTS300, as the icing on the cake.

That following on her previous Fuzhou China Open WTS750 title last November, just four months ago. Phenomenal.

A coming-of-age story for the young rising talent, poised for superstardom in the near future ? I believe so.

In the match with Akane today at the BAC semifinals, Chen Yufei was worn out from the last quarter of G2 onward.

Akane is such an amazing runner and retriever, second to none, so fleet-footed, and has superb stamina - on her day she can outrun practically any opponent.

In my opinion, Chen Yufei is the better player but lost on stamina in the end. In terms of fitness, she is not yet at the same level as Tai TY, C Marin, Akane Y, Nozomi O, and , I 'd add, Saina N.

Yes, fatigue also leads to proneness to errors as your legs go soft and your playing hand loses touch.
