Sudirman format has one match from each discipline in a tie.
So even "2" MD players are enough on paper.

Why no GLY/CPS? I mean yeah Tan/Lai has shown some good performance of late, but experienced players are undoubtedly a plus in team competition.
No surprise they excluded Goh/Tan and as far as LCW is concerned he must not be match fit yet.

    They wish.
They'll be the underdogs in almost every discipline against almost every good team. Other than MD , ofcourse Aaron can pull some upsets

They can always shuffle the pairs or to replace any half of the pair who get injured. Better to have more than less.

They can always shuffle their MD, just in case one half of the pair is injured.
Chan/Goh and Goh/Tan are no longer part of the National team, that's why they are excluded.

Makes me wonder if Ahsan/Hendra would be chosen to be in INA team or not because of their official status as independent players BUT treated as national players (coaches accompany them in tournaments, no coach around even if they face another national team INA pair) unlike the usual independent players.

I read an article where he said this tournament is mainly for exposure. When asked about professional players' exclusion , the official replied - "this Sudirman cup matches won't have that much Olympic qualification points. So they shouldn't cry foul over this. "

Ahsan/Hendra are included as INA team will bring three men's doubles pairs. PBSI targeting to regain the trophy as INA only won once in inaugural edition, 30 years ago => https://badmintonindonesia.org/app/information/newsDetail.aspx?/8093

Observe that INA only sends 1 WD pair + 1 extra reserve player : Ni Ketut. Don't they figure that INA MS is a loss already and now WD is also handicapped?

So, INA MS is hopeless now? If so, I disagree.

Fitriani/GMT is a toss up vs. Den's Mia Blichfeldt/Line Kjaersfeldt.

Did you mean "WS" in your previous post?
Because INA MS is far from hopeless.

The lineup is very interesting. No Lin Dan and Liu/Zhang. CHN team really gives more exposure and trust towards the youngsters. Liu Cheng is not called again after missed out in SC 2017. CHN team is no longer use LD and ZN's service. From the team, Chen Long is the oldest, way older than HYQ, the second oldest player in the CHN team. I am sure that CL is the CHN team's captain.
