Minions were doing just fine in both Thomas Cup and AG team event against CHN last year :D The only point INA won.
Now that Indonesia teams relies on MD and MS a lot, it's going to be a lot of pressure for the players.

I actually feel that Minions are not gonna qualify to Tokyo and instead Daddies - Fajri are going to qualify

Why? Don't tell me that they are on permanent decline.

That would be cruel if that happen.

If that happened, that would be because Minions play much less tournaments than other pairs in the qualification period.

    That's the point.

the 30,000 surplus points minions have over daddies and fajri right now are meaningless because the actual calculation for Olympics just starts this week.
the daddies have already won 7000 points while both the minions and the fajri are still zero.

and imo Hendra/Ahsan is quite clever when he resigned from BAC last week.
Because it is better to have 7000 points calculated than to have 9000 points that are not counted.

Indeed, I have no idea why they don't sent minions to Super 300 tournaments like the others though. Unless, they are sure minions are capable of qualifying by just playing Super 500+. Oh well there are many other tournaments for the rest of the year I supposed.

Ahsan/Hendra being independent players might get the advantage of participating in any tournaments they want.

Personally and based on current form I would put the daddies first on the plane to Tokyo. And it's a 50-50 between minions and Fajri.

    Play hard. Train harder.

They have so much variation, calm and patient on the court. Both have compliment each other well and "no target" for opponent.

    Partially is because of this:
The rest is just a hunch

It's just starting, we can't tell a whole year from just one tournament. The ranking will be based on the best 10 tournaments of the year, not the whole tournaments they play in a year.

It's official now. Hendra will serve as captain while Ahsan will serve as vice captain in this SC.

Ahsan/hendra are very consistent this year, I feel like they're playing even better right now compared to 2015/2016.

At this rate they can easily qualify for Tokyo 2020. The other INA pairs will have difficulty catching up with them and minions for the two Tokyo spots.

given their age and old injury (ahsan's back), i think they should ease their tournament schedule. another 1 hr match today and tomorrow they are playing Ko/Shin.

Feels bad for ahsan/hendra, last week they still look pretty happy even after minions beat them in the final, but not today...ahsan especially seems very disappointed after the lost. I hope they can win the title in thailand next week :)

Yeah but he didn't play that well today, maybe he was a bit tired. They had 2 game points in G2 but couldn't convert. Must feel pretty sad.
