After Thomas Cup 2014, Uber Cup 2018, the next biggest goal towards Tokyo 2020 is Sudirman Cup. Looking at group-stage drawing, Japan is absolutely is the clear winner over Thailand and Russia. BREAKING THE CURSE Indonesia has unfriendly fate with Sudirman Cup, 2019 marks exactly three decades ago when the proud history recorded and spurring “Merah Putih” team to reclaim the glory. Main core of contingent will focus to men’s doubles department and the on-fire men’s singles duet Jonatan Christie-Anthony Ginting to pick advantage and hoping one of three remaining disciplines could create beyond expectation result here. Being runner-up for numerous times (1991, 1993, 1995, 2001, 2005, 2007), the worst outcome occurred two years ago in Gold Coast, INA couldn’t progressed into quarterfinal for the first time. European powerhouse Denmark and England will be group stage rival to top group 1B. IMPOSSIBLE MISSION Coming to Nanning without notable names, following the missing of core singles players, Son Wan Ho then Sung Ji Hyun citing injury. It’s toothless squad at the glimpse, the arduous journey for title-holder Korea to extend their supremacy. The unheralded Korea often spring huge upset to stun the favourites in team event, including 2017 Gold Coast shocking story. The reviving of women’s doubles Kim So Yeong/Kong Hee Yong and emergence of teen star An Se Young will be their morale boost to face TPE and HKG in group 1C. More balanced Chinese Taipei will rely on world number one Tai Tzu Ying alongside with 2018 Asian Games silver medalist Chou Tien Chen and men’s doubles hotshots Lee Yang/Wang Chi Lin. THE WOUNDED DRAGON Tenth-time champion China swallowed better pill two years ago, suffered unexpected twist to the underdog Korea, second time in Sudirman Cup history after 2003 edition. Competing at home turf, China looks confident to seek 11th title with their young generation brigade. They exclude the Olympic Champions Lin Dan, Li Xuerui and Zhang Nan, replacing them with inexperienced players like Lu Guangzu, Han Yue, Han Chengkai, Zhou Haodong. Mixed doubles clearly will be their trump card and will banking on women’s categories considering Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yifan also Chen Yufei as well who showing reliable result just in time. Shi Yuqi, Chen Long and Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen will be their main arsenal in men’s category to reach the target. DAY-1 (19 May) ORDER OF PLAY : https://bwf.tournamentsoftware.com/...1FA1A9-CDE1-4700-B03E-3E7CF2C992ED&d=20190519 Group 1B : INA v ENG (Court 1, 11.00am) Group 1D : CHN v MAS (Court 1, 06.00pm) Group 1C : TPE v HKG (Court 2, 06.00pm)
Why the schedule starts with group 1B now? I thought usually it was always started by group 1A in the previous tournaments, even in TUC? Also, have just noticed that the QFs are in different days. This is also new, isn't it?

how do they decide the order of play of matches? bwf mediates till both sides agree? i don't know if.this has been answered.before....i'm just lazy to search around....
Lol looks like chris was unhappy with kevin because he didn't say sorry immediately after he play that shot at 19-18 (could be dangerous for chris) but hey, at least kevin still apologize after that. I think kevin genuinely annoyed with this english pair especially chris, they were wasting so much times in between rally it's ridiculous. I also think kevin didn't like the fact that chris was apologizing to him because his shot was going out at one point, don't do that to kevin bro lol.
Yeah, it's funny to see both of them apologize after the match is over. As per the new rule, the officials will decide the order of play. The teams no longer have the power to manipulate the order of play.
hope bwf officials in charge is not dumb.. hope they choose order of play that will maximize chance the ties go to 5th match... it's dumb to watch sudirman cup 3-0 at important ties every time...
Does anyone hear the words from England coach at interval time in men's double match between Indonesia vs England ? I've just heard about 20% of it Please tell me what he (the coach) said
sure i know it depends a lot on the players still putting stupid order of play can ruin the whole ties...
