At least one of the backups seems to work for Japan.

Bird Japan looking slightly off-colour as a whole. Maybe last week's training session took its toll.

Even i thought too. I was searching his name in XD. Then i thought that there is no way this weak Russian combo can win the tie against japan.
Then they are now 2-2 so far.

    DEN v ENG (Court 1)

The order of play offers different perspectives, mixed doubles is arranged at first, Marcus Ellis and Lauren Smith will play two disciplines also Sara Thygesen as well. England might steal opening tie but Denmark surely will scoop singles category then interesting plot in MD and WD.

    KOR v HKG (Court 2)

It will be close contest but defending champion is slightly favoured to overcome HKG. Quite surprise Korea doesn't field vast experienced Lee Dong Keun instead of Heo Kwang Hee against Ng Ka Long.

Davletova looks promising, but then in Doubles you have to have a good partner as well.

This co-commentator with Steen seems to know only two things about badminton: the current score, and whether the shuttle has gone out.

[IMG] Ugh...the image refuses to load. Anyway, Ayaka seemed to be cringing at her teammate's cheer.

    I think they blew it.
For the first time in forever they had a chance to defeat the European top guns.
They'd have a chance in all the doubles category.
And if Chloe can stretch Mia to 3 games, stamina is the only thing she can compare to the young Danish spear

If Japan won 5-0 today, maybe, there is a chance for her to play tomorrow, but in this case, I think Japan will take strongest team to face with Thailand.

Looking at the line up today, it is very likely that they planned it that way from the beginning.

The MS and MD performance from JPN still leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I think it's a mix of overconfidence, actual playstyle clash, lack of patience and lack of that deadly smash kill.

On a separate note, the women became the saviours for Japan haha

the DEN v ENG play order amended to cater for players with double duties from

    MD WS MS WD XD
    to
    XD MS WS MD WD

since ENG given up her best pair XD to force the revised schedule probably realised that for the original schedule with XD play last they might already 1-3 down anyway but with the revised schedule by the 4th match if ENG at 1-2 down they have a good chance to level it to 2-2 with the OLY bronze medallist and then down to the last WD match.

little did they knew that DEN also fielded player with double duties and forced the XD to play first, thus ENG could still pick Adcocks and play first!
