If Chen/Jia manage to beat all of JPN WD like Kim/Kong, JPN WD will be in deep trouble. If JPN WD can't regain its domination, the top world ranking will be in danger.
My humble opinion: I think the backroom staff for China are "MOTM" for the final tie against Japan. As many have stated, China came well-prepared to defeat their final opponents. If you look at just MS category alone, it highlights how difficult it is will be for Momota to consistently beat China MS like Shi & Chen, much thanks to their coaching staff. With that being said, I couldn't event fathom how LCW managed to hold up against China MS for the past 10+ years or so!
Frankly I expected a tough final with Japan winning 3-2. Based on the two singles and women doubles. I also think Japan was confident to win and create "history" by defeating China on home soil. Its an unexpected upset I must say but whether its home soil or not if you are strong enough you should win wherever you play.
Let me offer an answer. LCW over the past decade was a way more rounded player than Momota currently is. LCW of the past decade had really no glaring weaknesses, there may be subtle ones but none easily exploitable. Momota’s playstyle now is more like a better and refined version of LCW from 2005-2007, playing positional and reactive badminton. (I’ll be flamed for this) If the Chinese know Momota won’t attack most of the time, they can devise a plan to take advantage of that (like Shi Yuqi did). The Chinese did not have such a clear cut plan against LCW, having to rely on a well playing LD in LCW’s prime, and a very athletic CL when LCW’s physicality was declining. That being said, I won’t describe Momota’s defensiveness as a weakness, but more a lack of strength. Given Momota is still 24, he still can change that to trouble China for a long time
In team event, Japan need a reliable backup to spread the load. Getting KM to play in 3 matches is not a sensible plan. Same goes to MD.
Momota is no doubt the best MS player in the world at the moment. Just look at his results over the past 12-15 months and obviously his world ranking. Having said that I personally think he played better at the Thomas Cup and and World Championship 2018. Reasons can be many, but it all remains speculations. Yesterday She Yuqi realised that Momota was not able to hurt his defence and had an upper hand in terms of speed. Due to this his attack suddenly became more efficient and reliable, just like at the WTF in December. Hence new situations require new solutions. Momota and Shi Yuqi are great players. We will see many more matches and surely Momota will bounce back. The suspense will stay intact and that's what we love about sports.
Maybe try writing essays about He Bingjiao and how she wasn’t the best team player because she didn’t cheer loudly enough
How many times SYQ and Momota played in China? Maybe they met 6 times, 4 times in China and still its just even. I dont see his defeat anything other than tiredness. Thats what he said too. too bad he is punished on sunday and not saturday lol. I think Momota smash isnt strong enough, he doesnt have the raw muscle like LCW do. the zip sound when you smash. However, when his career ends, he probably will be the closest to LCW number of titles. The opponents he will play is the same, especially in single. If he is good, he is good.
hello, how do i download the CCTV5 stream from baidu pan?? https://www.52waha.com/down/badminton thanks..
All in that context means pairs they had faced. Anyway, IF they meet, Chen Jia will be standing on top all the way.
So there is no point overanalysing what went wrong. He needs to increase his muscle mass. SYQ can play like that in China just like Li/Liu but it requires tremendous amount of support. Thats why they cant beat their nemesis outside China.
Momota has already won four tournaments this year, including the All England and BAC. Has anyone else come close?
