Lovely to see them together again. I don't have too much expectations but just hoping that they'll do well in couple of matches. What are the chances of us seeing LYD/YYS vs Ash/Set? Play hard. Train harder.
Its just team event (SudirmanCup). I dont see this has anything to be discussed more than a day after the tournament ends lol. People are justifying why a team lost and why a team won..
Tomorrow's matches schedule is up https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=C40187F6-0472-408C-A350-A6F27EBE8B21
Total prize-money : US$150,000 Player's Withdrawal - MS : Zhou Zeqi (CHN), Khosit Phetpradab (THA) - WS : NONE - MD : Liu C/Zhang N (CHN), Isriyanet/Namdash (THA) - WD : NONE - XD : Goh SH/Shevon Lai (MAS) Tournament website : http://www.australianbadmintonopen.com.au/ Tournament time-table : https://extranet.bwfbadminton.com/docs/events/3358/docs/CROWN GROUP Australian Open 2019 _ Prospectus.pdf Sydney time : https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/australia/sydney Fantastic entry list for AUS Open 2019 where many elite players taking part in Super 300 tournament, a rarity but understandable since Olympic qualification period had already started. A super tough task for title-holder Lu Guangzu to begin his campaign against Asian Games Gold medalist Jonatan Christie in opening round. Another interesting ties to follow on Wednesday, the rematch of just concluded Sudirman Cup 2019 between Indian Sameer Verma versus Malaysian new prospect Lee Zii Jia, former champion Lin Dan will take on Prannoy. Also projecting close contest of Tommy Sugiarto-Ng Ka Long is on the cards. Not less than five players of top-ten world rank join strong women's singles line-up with Nozomi Okuhara and Chen Yufei occupy top two seeds, followed by Pusarla Sindhu, Ratchanok Intanon and Sung Ji Hyun. Other familiar names in the fray, Zhang Beiwen, Michelle Li and Li Xuerui completed eight seeding position. The reunion of former world number one, the formidables Lee YD/Yoo YS will crawling from qualifying round, minus the Minions men's doubles category will present fierce competition. The similar pattern imposed in women's doubles as well to serve Super 1000 rivalry, starry cast from Japanese top three plus reviving Chinese duo Chen/Jia, Korean challengers to Indonesia combination Polii/Rahayu. Chinese mixed doubles aces Zheng/Huang skip this event but they still bring the number two pair Wang/Huang who will capitalise their compatriots absence to seek glory. The familiar participants to notice, Watanabe/Higashino, The Adcocks, Chan PS/Goh LY, defending champions Seo SJ/Chae YJ and two Indonesian pairs, Jordan/Oktavianti- Faizal/Widjaja.
I think it is safe that none of the players are clear favourite to win the title. The top players are quite equal.
Hmm LD's match is not allocated yet. There is a 50-50 chance for him to play on court 3 or 4 (= retired prematurely). And it's the last MS match for the day. It could be extraordinary lol
Hmm SYX defeated Koki Watanabe, a bright young japanese prospect only to loose against Cheam June Wei. Also, Lakshya literally destroyed Tech ZS (21-8 only21-8) to loose against Tanongsak. Both these youngsters still have serious fitness issue, LS more than SFX. If he can't play equally good in two matches in day, he'll never qualify to main draw of a "decent" tournament. Not taking anything away from Tanongsak, the chap can trouble many big guns, but it's just a pattern we have seen from all Lakshya's matches. Including the one against Marc C in the PBL. The physical factor dominates the technical one in MS by many folds. If he need any headstart in Sr career against his other talented opponents (from Jr circuit) he better hit that gym hard
Anyone notice this fellow named Matthew fogarty? He played xd against yuta and arisa. He's 62 years old... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He has been there for years He just loves badminton so much to lose it at first match Quite admirable actually
MS qualification round notices two Chinese back ups, 2016 WJChamp Sun Feixiang and 2019 Barcelona Masters semifinalist Ren Pengbo lost to same player, Cheam June Wei (born 1997), not encouraging result for China second/third layered MS who teetering to climb at senior stage. Another Malaysian qualifier also sneak into main draw, Soong Joo Ven alongside with Thai veteran Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk and Indonesian rookie Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo. In mixed doubles opening round saw defending champions Seo SJ/Chae YJ sent packing early by the comeback HKG lefthanders Tang CM/Tse YS with symmetrical scoreline, 21-16 / 21-16. The Koreans seem off form, committed some easy mistakes including service errors. Close battle between The Adcocks against Lu K/Chen L, the Chinese saved three match points before lost narrowly 21-19 in deciding game. Top-two seeds march on comfortably into last sixteen, Wang/Huang and Watanabe/Higashino. *MATCH HIGHLIGHTS - Jonatan Christie (INA) v Lu Guangzu (CHN) - Lin Dan (CHN) v Prannoy H.S. Forgive my ignorance, but how do you qualify for a Super 300 tournament? I assume if you're above a certain ranking you get a spot, but then there are the qualifying spaces and what's the criteria for that? Whilst their score against Arisa and Yuta may not be flattering it's still mightily impressive that someone that age managed to qualify
