JTLYK, JP AX88D in Japan costs just as much if not more than it does in HK. I was just there 2 months ago.

What's a common string people like to use on the 4u 88D? My usual setup for previous rackets is BG80. Thinking of trying something with abit more repulsion since I'm coming from a 3u even balance racket, maybe AB or AS? or No.1 for durability?

Perhaps try your usual setup first? If you're used to 3U in general, changing to a 4U will already require some adaption as is. Why make it worse by possibly going a different string that may affect the smaller bits of your game. Get used to the racket first then think of minor improvements is my advice.

Yeah fair comment! To save me reviving the BG80 thread is there any real difference in feel between BG80 colours? Only used yellow strings thus far, notice BG80 comes in white and black also.
    Cheers

So far general consensus is that black and white have no real differences. Yellow seem to have a bit more texture. Otherwise performs the same.

If you're concerned about shaft stiffness then yes. That would be the main issue during transition.

Hey ch1ko, I previously tried duora 8xp once and I totally dislike it due to the stiffness so for this case if I were to transit to 88d will have the same issues? Thanks!

Yes. If you don't like that stiffness you're just gonna get the same from the 88D. Plus the head weight.

I have been getting lazy lately with the 88s. Wondering if the nf700 may ease me on my lazy days. Even balance medium flex. Hmmmmm.

Sorry just wanna ask. Out of topic. Nf700 is medium flex and head balance? If that's the case if I were to change from duora 7 to Nf700 it should fit?

It would be a better fit. But it may not work either. NF700 is a bit of a unique one. I have to admit. Getting full power out of it isn't easy despite its stiffness. NF700 is a medium stiff racket with a slightly head heavy balance IMO. I feel it has more in common with a VT70ETN than any of the Nanoray series frankly..

Hi guys. I'm just a casual player and have been using 4U AX88D for almost 5 months now. It's my first head heavy racquet ever. The first time I use it, I need to work in my defense but it's been good now. At least it needs couple of smashes to get a point from me. Lol.

However, I want to get a new racquet for my back up but with similar characteristic to 88D. I'm planning to get either Auraspeed 80X or 90S but I think 80X is more similar to 88D than 90S. What do you guys think?

Got my 4u 88d with BG80 @ 25lbs yesterday, did two hours of singles getting used to it last night (was supposed to be doubles).

Amazed at how easily I've been able to get used to it, I should probably give it another 5-6 hours to really make an assessment, but transition from my flexible even balanced 3u racket has seemingly not been that hard at all.

The biggest thing that's surprised me is there's no issue in generating power for singles play, and yet as expected is more manoeuvrable in defence! Looking forward to more hours with this!

Hmm so it's quite similar to duora 7? Because duora 7 is medium stiff? So meaning to say the difference is only the head heaviness it's more heavy?

Can't say that. It's a very different style of racket. Especially since NF700 only comes in 4/5U and the DUO7 comes in 3U.
