Anthony Jason is not really a mediocre player and he managed to give Lin Dan a scare who started tentatively in G1. Frankly, I doubt Lin Dan can survive Chou Tien Chen's onslaught tomorrow seeing how the latter drubbed Suppanyu earlier, fast and furious. It's reported that CTC has developed a special raining program for himself and is looking for a big break at the coming World Championships.
Li Xuerui appeared fitter than before , playing aggressively but more error-prone. In G1 despite giving some easy points away , she actually played well. But G2 was a horrific start, practically throwing the set away with easy mistakes one after another from which she never recovered. In the decider, her proneness to error continued albeit not as bad as in G2 but enough to cause her the match as most of Akane's points were won on LXR's simple unforced errors. Doesn't bode well for LXR's OG quest now that the OG QF cycle is in full swing.
Chia/Soh started G1 from the get-go playing only to the opponents' front court area, keeping the shuttle down all the time and smashing to pip Li/Liu to the 1st set. But from G2 onward, Li/Liu was able to read and counter that strategy and turn the match around and romped home to victory, esp in the decider.
Painful to see Sakuramoto/Takahata like this. They really have no confidence from 2018 left. Countless errors, bad lifts, no creativity by AS. They need a couple of wins to regain belief.
not to forget all that talk by that illustrious coach saying he already identified the problem with the girl's training regime and giving a new set training to all of XD girl players.... so much for that trash talk....really good job PraMel...
Lu Guangzu squandered 4 GP in G1 just when I thought he's a bit more patient and steady now, luckily he won the deuce straight, 22-20.

Both Kantaphon and Kanta are runners . When they meet, it will be like this. Both don't know how to kill the shuttle . They keep on playing the rally and tiring each other .
