Throwback to the 1995 World Championships and Sudirman Cup (these two tournaments were held together back then) which was held in Lausanne, Switzerland. https://bwfworldchampionships.bwfba...owback-1995-gold-and-glory-for-heryanto-arbi/
Is this list accurate?: https://www.toernooi.nl/sport/players.aspx?id=F4F75B1C-E72D-4248-865F-8EC38C06F7CB Would love to see some fellow dutchmen compete! I guess MS (Caljouw) and maybe MD (Maas/Tabeling), WD (Piek/Seijnen) and XD (Piek/Tabeling) would be possible.
Carolina Marin and SYQ listed for the WC draw. Will they play? That's another story but everything is possible.
Both have been entered to play a long ago. They might have withdrawn by July 23rd deadline, which we will get to know once the draw is out on the Aug 5th. Or they might take a call to play/withdraw later Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here is the initial seeding list for WC https://extranet.bwfbadminton.com/d...rsion 1 _Updated Tuesday, 30th July 2019_.pdf There are some things that I find interesting. AY and MatsuNaga rise back to WR1 at the right time, thus granting them the top seed spot. CM will occupy the 10th seed spot, meaning she will meet one of the top ladies in R16. Must be tough for her if she really decides to participate in WC. KS is thrown out of the top 8 spot. He was regularly placed within the top 8 seeded players. If he doesn't step up, he will suffer an early exit starting from this WC. Lee/Wang and Kim/Kong are both the seeded pairs after being paired not so long ago. They are being invited as the last reserved pairs.

Thanks,I just found out - he withdrew citing back injury. "The injury is a disc protrusion in the lower back, which is a precursor to a slipped disc, causing pain in the back and legs."
