nice match, NTM played well but wrong tactic.

Like Morten said, just throw the second game when LD lead too far to catch up. Just throw the second game and play all-out in deciding game. I don't know it will work or not but I think it's right.

Congrats LD. Far from a commanding victory, this should give his younger opponents hope (hearing Prannoy took 3 games for his match as well, I wouldn't bet on him though). I dont think LD medals with this kind of performance, but the next days will tell.

It's a nice match to me, NTM play all his best. He is the only one we have to face with top 10 MS.

I don't know how long we will have another one, 5 years or ten years. I don't know but it's very long for sure.

We have Minh like Malaysian have Lee Chong Wei.

The tactic was exactly right, but he didnt manage his own effort well enough in the second game. Should've let the long rallies go earlier. If you let yourself get drawn into rallies where you have to go anaerobic for too long, you will reduce your ability to recover afterwards for the rest of the match. His game plan after winning G1 should've been to stay at a comfortable pace and rally length, and only risk a grueling rally if he had a clear chance of winning the match. Hard to do though when your entire game is to play long rallies and tire out opponents. :D

Hahaha exactly what I thought :D although I would've phrased it more politely ;) let's say one of the players on court is making the game extra hard for herself by carrying around an unnecessary mass of maybe 5-10kg :D
Anyone know whether she's related to Tommy? Same surename but I have the feeling that doesn't say much in this instance

I gotta say Gill/Morten is one of my favorire duos. They seem to have so much fun doing their job, keeping the commentary relaxed and easily filling less interesting/intense periods, yet providing a lot of insight. Please, bwf, keep Gill around as long as she's at all willing. Only 2 minutes on the other stream were enough to make my ears bleed and my brain shrivel, and it wasn't the male commentator doing that match...

    You prefer Gill/Morten over Gill/Steen ?

Phew. Hard to say.I feel like Steen is the slightly better commentator, whereas Morten has more interesting insight. I do prefer Morten's voice, to be completely honest.
Very close, in any event, I'll happily take either pair.
Anyone know who's doing the secondary channel rn? I think he could pair up well enough with Morten/Steen as well, more of a filler/color commentator, less technical than either Dane.
