i think that should translate to: "so glad you guys are not here." (so she can eat the whole cake, at least that's what i think that meant)
what ??? the whole cake ??? ÔoÔ the next match between He and Akane, we can see Panda Po vs Doraemon. whenever I see Yamaguchi on twitter, I always see her eating something, and now He Binjiao eating the whole cake.
i think by the time the video was over, she already chowed down half of it! now i want a matcha cake too!
Ah, yes, you're right, I misread the sentence. I stand corrected. Amended accordingly. You do have a good command of Mandarin. It was in the middle of the night when I finished translating and feeling sleepy I went over it cursorily before posting, I'll be more thorough in future. Many thanks for pointing out my mistake, much appreciated.
Many thanks for taking the effort to do the translation! I am sure many non-Chinese readers appreciate it.
Upon closer inspection, I realized why I misread or mistranslated the sentence (aside from sleepiness or carelessness as an excuse) - the original was missing a punctuation, such as comma, question mark or full stop : ‘你们不在太好了!’, say, if there's a question mark in the sentence ‘你们不在 ? 太好了!’ In that case, I'd have translated it as , for example, ' You guys are not around ? That's great !' - of course, she was being mischievous when she said that, implying, as kwun correctly suggested, she would've the whole cake to herself then.
Geez Justin! You made a lil mistake so what? We appreciated your work and always look forward to your translations.
Ah, you see, it's not that I'm a perfectionist or too bothered by a little mistake. The thing is I'm grateful to @kwun for taking the trouble to point out my mistake and even offered his good translation of the sentence, if he hadn't done so , I wouldn't have realized it and not have a chance to learn and improve myself in Chinese-English translation, a pastime for me, a self-taught Mandarin student.
He Bingjiao, you've only one month left to seriously work on your stamina before the start of the OG qualification cycle. No doubt, there's some improvement at the moment, as can be seen at the IND Open where you progressed to the final, but, evidently, still not quite enough. Your stamina remains the worst among the top 10 players,a worrying drawback. If you don't put your foot down and address the issue decisively once and for all, I won't be surprised if your quest for an OG spot may be denied by one of your fellow junior up-and-comers, possibly Han Yue or even Cai Yanyan or Chen Xiaoxin. Take heed. That's just my thought.
HBJ's attacking ability was often praised by the BWF commentators. Given Luo YiGang's liberation of his players from Chen Jin era rallying, I was puzzled by HBJ's somewhat passive style against RI. My guess is that HBJ is still a work in progress under LYG's master plan. One of these days, sooner rather than later, HBJ will get her tactics right. Combining with better conditioning, she will take a next step upward. Let's wait and see.
Don't forget that epic battle between the twins at the Youth Olympics in 2014 Just realized that HBJ has her own topic on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmrxMFpVb0X4TiJ8WSWYDRw
Of late, esp obvious at the ongoing INA Open 2019, He Bingjiao is no longer the creative and deceptive player that she was, not in evidence. I'm afraid the CHN coaches may have changed her game too much, not her natural style. I thought it'd be much better to retain her penchant for creative and deceptive shots while improving on or changing whatever is needed as perceived by the coaches, or at least strike a good balance.
