I would consider myself an intermediate player playing both singles and doubles. I have been using Arc10 for the past 5 years. Unfortunately it broke. I figured I wanted to get more power for my smashes and bought Voltric 10DG to test out. I really liked this racket although losing some speed while defense while improving my smashes. Now I am looking for another racket to compliment 10DG if it ever breaks. I need a head heavy racket with med flex and grip size G5 with a big frame. I borrowed my friend's Astrox 99 (4U-G4) and found it too light and big for my hands. I also checked out ZForce 2 (3U-G5) and found the frame to be small. I was hitting the rim often as I am so used to Arc10's big frame. I am not well versed with other brands like Li Ning or Victor enough as all my friends use Yonex. Any suggestions be it Yonex or other brands is welcome.
If AX99 4U is to light, why not 3U instead. Mine Victor TK770HT, try find one & maybe you will like it. Btw i think VT10 is mid stiff (4/5)
Really? You find ZF2 too small when your main racket is 10DG? Bizarre. Are you sure you aren’t just mistiming it because the zf2 is a little faster? If you just want a big head - 88D / Astrox 99 3u.
I am pretty sure the frame size of Z Force 2 is lot smaller. I never compared Z Force 2 with 10DG but I had both lined up against my Arc 10 and saw that Z Force 2 has a lot smaller head. 10DG was slightly smaller but not as bad. I am looking at something with med flex like Astrox 77 and LD Force but I cant seem to find any good websites to order from. Every site in US seems to list the price at 200$ or more.
This doesn't make any sense in light of https://badminton-coach.co.uk/8505/yonex-voltric-10dg-badminton-racket-review/
I’ve owned 4 ZF2’s and 3 10DG’s and always found them practically the same besides the thickness. Weird.
If you want head heavy racket with medium flex outside yonex, you can try li ning aeronaut 9000C or if you want yonex, try 99 or 88D in 3U-G5 model or you can try duora z strike Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think it could be the stiffness. I was never able to play well with ZF 2. Whereas with 10 DG I am able to play decently. I guess I had a mental block with ZF2 after trying it and not being able to play well.
Z strike is neither got a big frame, head heavy, or medium flex, OP, wouldn't recommend if you didn't like either ax99 or z force2. Yonex flagships tend to all be stiff or v. Stiff, but astrox 77 and Lin Dan force are worth a look, or the mid range voltric and astrox.
I think Z strike is head heavy, if you look at the specs yes, its say that Z strike is even balance, but if you try it, you feel the head heavy feeling of Z strike, i had Z strike and for me its very good for doubles player, wether you are front or back court player this racket give you speed and power you needed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What string do you use for your DZS?I've got mine for 2 weeks and still cant get used to it,first using BG80(26 lbs) & Nanogy 98(27lbs) any recommendation on string?
I don't really feel that its head heavy, just heavy if you know what I mean, it doesn't balance like voltrics or astroxes I also recommend ultimax, but I use ng 99 because it lasts longer. Remember it can take a while to get used to z strike, I just stuck with ultimax at lower tension until I got used to it.
Agreed with previous recommendations. Thin strings seemed to be best with it for me. Mostly psychological but hey, half of it is you being comfortable with it. I think I used Ultimax and No.1 mostly.
If you compare it with astrox or voltric, of course its feel lighter because of the higher balance point of astrox and voltric series Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
