It's more flexible than BS12, but AVP here is $70 whereas BS12 is $180....so they're not really in the same playing field
I find this quite strange because my AVP is almost as stiff as my ZF2 which is a very stiff racket. My AVP doesn't feel flexible or wobbly at all, and I do have flexible rackets so maybe it's Apacs and their quality control?
Mate, my AVP is almost as stiff as my ZF2 so I dunno? Maybe a bad batch or something? I should make a vid to post on here
I don't remember the AVP being so flexible, BS12 is already too flexible for me. I prefer the stiffness of JS10/BS11. Is there an apacs fast frame that's stiffer?
It's not flexible, it says it's medium stiff but it's on the stiffer side I think personally, I'm leaving for badminton soon actually, just got my avp restrung, I'm trying aerobite string at 28lb.. Never used this string and I usually use li ning #1 but I fancied something different as I want to start experimenting with new strings. Anyway, I'm just waffling lol
Depending on the serie number I had two kinds of AVP, stiff and flexible. Orange colour. I already talked about this difference in another thread : "I have noticed a big difference in stiffness between old series numbers and after 50 00 00 . Old ones are much stiffer and the shaft is slightly longer. The top cap is slightly different too."
Have you ever had the bg80 string in the AVP? I was thinking 25lbs as never experimented much with string tension.
Hmm we could be talking about completely different AVP models. This is the one I used: It is black with yellow letters. Probably a different model from what you are using
I think the difference here is that ZF2 is easier to flex during a swing due to the head heaviness. If you were to measure the stiffness when not in motion, ZF2 would be stiffer. It's the same reason why people think DZS is stiffer than ZF2 when they are the same stiffness.
That definitely explains it. This is my model. So, case closed.. The new model is the good model I'll be bringing some back with me on 17th Dec so let me know if you want one via PM
He Hey mate, my stringer doesn't recommend using BG80 with low tension, I think it's more fair to say, BG80 performs as it is supposed to at higher tension. Of course this comment will cause debate but my friend who is my stringer is also a very good badminton player and has the most beastly smash so I trust his opinion as he can speak from experience. But by all means, experiment for yourself, after all, the only way to find what works for you is to experiment. I just tried aerobite string last night for the first time and on my AVP and I absolutely LOVE this string!! I was rather surprised. It's strung at 28 lbs by the way.. But the feel, the control, the REPULSION, THE SOUND!!! I only played for 3 hours last night and my game wasn't as on point obviously because I'm using a new string but after a few sessions I can see this string being my new go to. I'm gunna get another AVP soon and string it with my other fave Li Ning #1 to do a side by side comparison. Only downside to the aerobite string is it's about double the price but if money isn't the issue here then I definitely urge anyone to try. I think if I can speak this highly of a string that I've only used for a few hours it's definitely a potential promising string. All the best
This is the Apacs Virtuoso Pro Robert Blair. This is slightly lighter and but more head heavy compared to AVP. I like the VP Robert Blair more than AVP. My arm gets more strained using AVP than Robert Blair. I play better with this compared to my other high end Yonex - Astrox 77 and Arcsaber Z Slash.
